WACKY televangelist Pat Robertson has claimed God told him Donald Trump will triumph in the upcoming election. The 90-year-old also warned of chaos in the wake of his victory — before bizarrely prophesying that an asteroid will slam into Earth and "maybe" spell the end of humankind. ⚠️ Follow our US election 2020 live blog for the latest news & updates Robertson told religious programme The 700 Club Trump would win the November 3 election "without question", although he urged viewers to vote nevertheless. He said: "Trump is going to win the election. "That doesn't mean you sit home and don't vote. "That means you get out and do everything you can to work, but he's going to win. "That's, I think, a given." Robertson's prophecy, however, does contradict most opinion polls, which show Democratic candidate Joe Biden several points ahead of Trump with just two weeks to go until election day. During his appearance on the programme, the televangelist also … [Read more...] about Televangelist Pat Robertson predicts Trump win, then chaos and violence will erupt before asteroid brings end of world

‘So creative!’: $6 DIY wedding centerpieces stun internet
A DIY hack about how to make sophisticated floral centerpieces to top tables at weddings for just $6 has gone viral, leaving the internet stunned. In a video shared on TikTok earlier in May, Kaiandnika shows how to build up tall centerpieces using just some cheap glass candle holders, a kind of super glue that is specific for gluing glass together, and some plastic bowls to hold the flowers on the top. The footage shows Kaiandnika gluing all the parts together and once they have dried up, they're ready to paint. In further comments, she explained that a crafty friend helped her paint her centerpieces with gold spray paint, and once ready she added real flowers and leaves on top for a nice touch. In the comments, she also explained that while $6 was roughly the price she had paid in 2021 for each finished centerpiece, now with rising costs the price would be slightly higher. She also said she may have actually paid less than $6 each, as she bought five of the six items for … [Read more...] about ‘So creative!’: $6 DIY wedding centerpieces stun internet

Narendra Modi pays price at the polls as India suffers another day of record deaths
Narendra Modi, the Indian prime minister, suffered a major blow on Sunday after his right-wing Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) lost a key regional election amid mounting criticism of his response to the country's catastrophic outbrea k of the coronavirus. As the votes were counted for the state elections in West Bengal, a new daily record of 3,689 deaths from Covid was recorded on the day, along with 390,000 new infections. Britain announced on Sunday night that it was sending 1,000 ventilators to India. It comes on top of 200 ventilators, 495 oxygen concentrators and 3 oxygen generation units dispatched last week to Indian hospitals. Professor Chris Whitty, Chief Medical Officer, and Sir Patrick Vallance, the Chief Scientific Adviser, have also spoken to their Indian counterparts to provide advice and insight. Boris Johnson opens door to increased immigration from India in exchange for trade deal
Boris Johnson on Wednesday opened the door to increased immigration from India to the UK in exchange for a trade deal, as he prepared to meet Narendra Modi , the country's prime minister. Speaking from his plane, the Prime Minister said he hoped to strike a trade deal "by the end of the year" and that he had "always been in favour of having people come to this country". He suggested more relaxed rules for Indian immigrants could be offered by the Government in exchange for a speedy deal that allows the two countries to trade without tariffs. "We have a massive shortage in the UK, not least in experts in IT and programmers," Mr Johnson said. "We're short to the tune of hundreds of thousands in our economy. "We need to have a professional approach but it has to be controlled." His comments come after ministers announced they would loosen visa restrictions for Indian students earlier this year. Easier immigration is a key demand of Mr Modi in trade negotiations, and could … [Read more...] about Boris Johnson opens door to increased immigration from India in exchange for trade deal
It won’t be long before Boris Johnson does the popular thing, and adopts Labour’s policy
Not believing in very much is usually a strength in a politician, and it has served Boris Johnson well. But there are times when it is a weakness and now is one of those times. He had to pretend to be Conservative to get himself out of a hole earlier this year, only to find that he was like a worm that went down when it thought it was coming up. In order to buy off a rebellion among Conservative MPs, who came close to getting rid of him in January, Johnson changed the team in No 10, appointing a cabinet minister, Steve Barclay, as chief of staff to replace Dan Rosenfield. Rosenfield was a political appointment but had been a civil servant, whereas Barclay was a political appointment of an actual politician. Andrew Griffith, a Tory MP, was brought in to head the No 10 policy unit. And David Canzini, a more “political” special adviser than Rosenfield, was brought in as deputy chief of staff. Canzini was quickly credited by Tory MPs with repairing a connection between the … [Read more...] about It won’t be long before Boris Johnson does the popular thing, and adopts Labour’s policy
