Britney Spears will make her return to the music scene with a collaboration with Sir Elton John, it has been announced. While details of the project are limited, a spokesperson told the PA news agency the new track will be titled Hold Me Closer. It had been speculated the pair would join forces on a new version of Sir Elton's 1971 hit Tiny Dancer. Homicide detectives have determined that a 9-year-old boy was involved in a shooting that killed a 15-year-old girl in the Edmondson Village neighborhood of Baltimore on Saturday, CBS Baltimore reports . The boy was among the children on a porch, police said on Sunday. A weapon that was allegedly in his possession went off around 8 p.m., police said. Multiple witnesses told investigators he was playing with a loaded handgun when it accidentally discharged, police said. After a bullet struck 15-year-old Nykayia Strawder in the head, the boy dropped the gun and ran, according to authorities. An ambulance took the teen to a local hospital where she was pronounced dead, police said. A 29-year-old Los Angeles bank executive was one of three people killed last week when lightning struck in a park across from the White House, his employer said. Brooks Lambertson, a vice president for City National Bank, was in Washington, D.C., on business when he was hit by lightning Thursday night in Lafayette Park, the bank said in a statement Saturday. A husband and wife from Wisconsin celebrating their 56th wedding anniversary were also struck by lightning and died. Lambertson managed sponsorships for the bank and previously worked in marketing for the Los Angeles Clippers, according to City National's statement. He lived in downtown LA. Police arrested a man in the death of his 2-year-old son, whom officials said died from injuries he suffered in his father's care at a Baton Rouge budget motel plagued by crime and safety issues in recent years. THE “abusive” messages said to have been sent by Ryan Giggs to his girlfriend have been revealed as he stands accused of assaulting her. The former Manchester United star, 48, is accused of using controlling and coercive behaviour against ex-partner Kate Greville between August 2017 and November 2020. He is also charged with assaulting the 36-year-old, causing her actual bodily harm, and of the common assault of her younger sister, Emma Greville, at his home in Worsley, Greater Manchester , on November 1 2020. Giggs has denied all the charges. During his appearance at Manchester Minshull Street Crown Court the jury heard about a number of “abusive” messages Giggs is said to have sent. A pensioner accused of causing the death of a baby boy by careless driving will say she had undiagnosed Alzheimer's disease at the time and will mount a defence of insanity, a court has heard. Shelagh Robertson, 75, was driving home from shopping at Tesco when she turned into the path of an oncoming van on the A10 at Waterbeach in Cambridgeshire on 22 January last year, forcing the van on to the pavement, Cambridge Crown Court heard. The van hit five-month-old Louis Thorold and his mother Rachael Thorold, killing him and throwing Mrs Thorold into the air and causing her serious injuries. Another driver who witnessed the crash, Kaye Lewis, said in a statement read in court that the van driver was "fighting the steering wheel but the van just kept going towards the pavement". The Metropolitan Police strip-searched nearly 700 children, some as young as 10, between 2018 and 2020, it has been revealed. Black boys were disproportionately targeted by officers, according to the figures uncovered by the Children’s Commissioner in the wake of the Child Q scandal. That incident saw a teenage girl of colour on her period told to strip naked for a drug search by police without another adult present. No drugs were found. But the latest damning revelations to hit the force actually suggest the incident was not isolated – and suggests a ‘systemic problem’, Children’s Commissioner Dame Rachel de Souza said. Some 650 children aged 10-17 underwent the ‘intrusive and traumatising’ strip-searches by the Metropolitan Police over a two-year period, Scotland Yard’s figures show.
