The agenda set at last week’s Group of 7 summit included British Prime Minister Boris Johnson pining over a world more “feminine” and “gender neutral.” “We need to make sure that as we recover, we level up across our societies and we build back better,” Johnson said, the New York Post reported . “And I actually think that we have a huge opportunity to do that, because as G7, we are united in our vision for a cleaner, greener world, a solution to the problems of climate change. And in those ideas, in those technologies, which we’re all addressing together, I think there is the potential to generate many, many millions of high-wage, high-skill jobs.” “And I think that is what the people of our countries now want us to focus on,” the conservative PM continued. “They want us to be sure that we’re beating the pandemic together and discussing how we’ll never have a repeat of what we’ve seen, but also that we’re building back better together,” Johnson said. “And building back greener … [Read more...] about G7 Summit Woke Agenda: Boris Johnson Wants World More ‘Feminine’ And ‘Gender Neutral’ | The Daily Wire

Signing a nuclear deal with Iran ‘would destabilise the Middle East’
The renegotiated Iran nuclear deal would destabilise the Middle East if adopted, three former Tory Cabinet ministers will argue on Thursday in a warning shot to the Government. Robert Jenrick, the former communities secretary, Liam Fox, the former defence secretary, and Stephen Crabb, the former Welsh secretary, are all backing a critical motion to be debated in Parliament. The motion lists a string of proposed changes to the draft agreement, which seeks to curb Iran’s drive towards developing nuclear weapons. The ideas include bringing in a stricter regime of monitoring on Iran’s nuclear activity and adopting tougher policing of Tehran’s “destabilising” activities. The original Iran nuclear deal was struck in 2015 and was signed with the UK, US, China, France, Germany, Russia and the European Union. It saw Tehran agree to curb its nuclear development in return for the lifting of economic sanctions. In recent years there have been attempts to negotiate a new deal after … [Read more...] about Signing a nuclear deal with Iran ‘would destabilise the Middle East’
Iran, US to begin indirect nuclear deal talks in Qatar
Iran and the United States appeared poised Tuesday to start indirect talks in Qatar aimed at finding a way to save Tehran 's tattered nuclear deal with world powers. The state-owned Tehran Times posted a photograph of Iran's top nuclear negotiator, Ali Bagheri Kani, in a hotel lobby with Iranian Ambassador to Qatar Hamidreza Dehghani. The newspaper said Bagheri Kani was in Doha , the Qatari capital, for the resumption of the talks. Rob Malley, the U.S. special representative for Iran, arrived in Qatar on Monday night ahead of the talks. The U.S. Embassy in Qatar said Malley met with Qatari Foreign Minister Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani to discuss “joint diplomatic efforts to address issues with Iran,” but declined to immediately offer any other details about his trip. Qatar's Foreign Ministry later issued a statement saying it “welcomed" hosting the talks. Whilst the G7 dithers, Putin is rebuilding his strategic power
Despite claims in the West that Russia has already been defeated strategically, Putin has been rebuilding alliances that had frayed at the start of his invasion. China, the Kremlin's most important partner, hedged its bets when Putin sent his forces in, calling for peace while laying at least part of the blame on Nato and the US. But just over a week ago, President Xi pledged greater economic and defence ties with Russia, flying in the face of Joe Biden’s direct warning to him in March against aiding Putin. India and South Africa have also stuck with Putin, refusing to condemn his aggression at the UN. Indonesia too refused to join the international sanctions regime and, despite pressure, has invited Putin to the G20 summit in Bali in November which it is hosting. In the Middle East, Saudi Arabia, the UAE and Iran still maintain good relations with Moscow; and, along with Xi, Egypt’s President el-Sisi this month addressed the St Petersburg International Economic Forum, dubbed the … [Read more...] about Whilst the G7 dithers, Putin is rebuilding his strategic power

Jeremy Hunt: ‘I discovered to my surprise during the leadership campaign that I really did want the job’
It is the day after the Chancellor’s spring statement , and Jeremy Hunt needs just one word to sum up what he thinks Rishi Sunak should be most worried about: growth. Quite apart from the cost of living crisis that is dominating all of our bank balances, Hunt warns that if the current growth forecasts prove accurate, “then it’s going to become very difficult to fund the growth in NHS and social care spending and the growth in defence spending that we need and that the public want”. The former foreign, health, and culture secretary believes the 2024 election will be fought on economic and foreign policy issues, and both Boris Johnson and Sunak would be well advised to keep an eye on a man who still harbours ambitions of leading the Conservative Party into that battle. With the Partygate investigation still hanging over the Prime Minister and Sunak’s popularity taking a battering this week, there remains an outside chance that the Tories will be looking for a new leader … [Read more...] about Jeremy Hunt: ‘I discovered to my surprise during the leadership campaign that I really did want the job’
Finland and Sweden move step closer to joining Nato, as Turkey drops opposition to membership
Finland and Sweden were on Tuesday given the green light to join Nato after convincing Turkey to drop its opposition to their membership. In a historic moment for the military alliance, the Turkish leader joined his Swedish and Finnish counterparts to sign a memorandum of understanding, paving the way for their accession to the alliance. Jens Stoltenberg, its secretary-general, said: “We now have an agreement that paves the way for Finland and Sweden to join Nato.” Boris Johnson, the Prime Minister, hailed the breakthrough as "fantastic news", adding: "Sweden and Finland's membership will make our brilliant alliance stronger and safer." The deal was brokered following more than two hours of intense negotiation on the eve of a leadership summit in Madrid. At the summit, Nato leaders will on Wednesday agree to bring Finland and Sweden into the alliance, enlarging it to a 32-member bloc. Both Nordic countries were neutral throughout the Cold War but applied to join Nato … [Read more...] about Finland and Sweden move step closer to joining Nato, as Turkey drops opposition to membership
