Neil Duffy has quit as manager of Whitletts Vics after a run of poor results leaves them playing catch-up in the league. Duffy stood down after a 1-1 draw away to bottom of the league Muirkirk followed a 2-1 defeat at toiling Saltcoats. The former Dundee United, Dundee, Falkirk and Ayr defender blamed new work commitments for his decision. Duffy, 50, said: “I’ve recently had a change in my work that is now making it more difficult for me to attend training during the week. Whitletts are a great club with loads of potential. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed my time there.” Assistant boss Duncan George has left by mutual consent while Martin Lawrie has joined Fauldhouse United. Former Vics player Paul Cameron, now of Girvan, was immediately installed as one of the favourites for the post. He captained Hurlford to their Scottish Cup win in 2014.
