WELCOME back Gareth, you have been away for far too long. Some 162 days after his return from Real Madrid, Tottenham finally saw the best of Gareth Bale. The Wales superstar celebrated only his third Premier League start of the season with a wonder show to batter Burnley. Bale rolled back the years as he scored twice - including the opener after only 68 seconds - and set up another for Harry Kane with a brilliant long-range pass. But forget the goals and the assists, there was one moment in the first half when he knocked the ball one side of as Burnley player and sprinted past him the other side to collect it, leaving him trailing as though he were Maicon. The former Inter Milan and Brazil full-back must still have nightmares after the way Bale roasted him in the Champions League a little over 10 years ago. Burnley’s back line will know how Maicon feels, even if at times they were architects of their own downfall. But you have to credit Bale for a performance … [Read more...] about Tottenham 4 Burnley 0: Gareth Bale back to his best with two goals as Kane and Moura sink sorry Clarets

Don’t be a mug, make these tasty ‘cup’ cake recipes for less
QUICK and easy mug cakes are the latest lockdown trend across social media – and I can see why. Far quicker — and cheaper — than baking an actual cake in the oven, they are the perfect savvy snack when you crave a sweet treat. Use these tips to make your own “cup” cake for less cash... GO BANANAS: Grab one ripe banana and 80g of Creative Nature banana bread mix, £2.99 at Tesco, rather than £3.99 at creativenaturesuperfoods.co.uk . Mash the banana with a little butter or margarine before combining with the bread mix and a dash of water. Microwave for 30 seconds on high before leaving to stand for 30 seconds. Repeat and if it looks like it needs a little longer, blast in ten-second bursts until the inside of your mug cake develops a nice bouncy texture. SAVING: £1 PROTEIN HIT: I love the protein mug cake mix from theproteinworks.com. You can currently grab a bag for £14.38, down from £15.99. Mix a scoop with water and microwave for 60 seconds. … [Read more...] about Don’t be a mug, make these tasty ‘cup’ cake recipes for less

Camera crews gave live footage from outside the Lindo Wing, where the Duchess of Cambridge was due to give birth to the future king. In a break from royal tradition, Prince William and Kate shared their happy news on Twitter and the traditional notice was put up outside Buckingham Palace, before stepping outside to pose for photos on the hospital steps. Real story behind Netflix’s The Dig as it portrays top archaeologist as ‘ditzy’
Dedicated Peggy Piggott is absorbed in her work as she pores over fascinating artefacts from Britain’s rich ancient past. But this picture of serious professionalism is not one viewers of Netflix ’s hit film The Dig will recognise. Instead of being portrayed as an experienced and skilled archaeologist, Peggy is played by Lily James as a clumsy sidekick and the romantic interest of a dashing photographer about to go to war. The Dig won rave reviews for its portrayal of the true story of the 1939 Sutton Hoo excavation of a 90ft Anglo-Saxon ship and Britain’s greatest treasure find. But experts believe film-makers failed to unearth the truth about confident and well-respected Peggy, whose celebrated career spanned six decades. What is your view?
