THE speedboat killer Jack Shepherd's lawyer has accused the victim's family of gloating over his prison sentence. Mariam Kublashvili blasted Charlotte Brown's relatives for refusing to accept his several apologies. Shepherd, 31, evaded justice for 10 months. On Thursday he was jailed for an extra six months, for skipping bail. He had already been sentenced to six years in jail in his absence over Charlotte Browne's death in December 2015 when they were both thrown from his speedboat. Charlotte, of Clacton, Essex, died on a first date with Shepherd during a late-night, drunken jaunt in December 2015 in the speedboat he bought to “pull women”. The 14ft Fletcher Arrowflyte boat hit an object in the water and both were flipped into the icy River Thames. The business consultant remained expressionless as he was led aboard the plane. Dr Hadiza Bawa-Garba has not worked since November 2015 when a jury convicted her of gross negligence manslaughter in her treatment of Jack Adcock who developed sepsis and died of cardiac arrest at Leicester Royal Infirmary in February 2011. Among her failures were making an incorrect diagnosis of gastro-enteritis on initial examination of the youngster – who had Down’s Syndrome and a heart condition – and not acting on a clinical reading which “ought to have been a clear indicator” of sepsis, the Medical Practitioners Tribunal Service (MPTS) hearing was told.
