Richard Sugarman and his son Sam, 13, are encouraging boys and men to take part in the charity’s Race for Life event which has previously been a women-only event. Taking place in Bute Park in Cardiff on July 6 and 7, participants have the chance sign up for the Pretty Muddy event on the Saturday, including Pretty Muddy Kids, or the 5k or 10k Race for Life events on the Sunday.Richard, 47, is passionate about supporting Cancer Research UK as it’s thanks to research he is here today and able to spend quality time with his son and his wife, Sue. Brighouse Tesco colleagues are helping to beat cancer by taking part in Cancer Research UK’s Race for Life. 0 Post a comment Tuesday, 14 May 2019 - Business by Duncan Foulkes - Business editor [email protected] Staff at HSBC raised almost £1,000 in aid of Cancer Research UK by holding an inter-island ‘boat race.’ The ‘Beat Cancer Boat Race’, an annual initiative for the bank, was held following the Oxford v Cambridge Boat Race. It saw staff from the island compete with colleagues in Jersey and Guernsey as teams to see which island could row furthest on static rowing machines located in branches.People visiting HSBC House in Douglas on the day were able to donate and HSBC staff also donated, with a total of £983 being raised by all teams. The Guernsey team rowed the furthest, covering a total of 104.5km.
