A HERO who tackled the London Bridge terrorist with a fire extinguisher has revealed his desperate bid to disable the attacker's "suicide vest". John Crilly, 48, chased Usman Khan after seeing his mentor and friend murdered, believing the killer was about to blow himself up and kill even more people.  Speaking to the Daily Mirror, Crilly recalled the frantic moments on Friday, November 29, after he rushed into action having seen his friend Jack Merritt stabbed in the chest at Fishmongers’ Hall. John, a reformed ex-prisoner, had been battling Khan inside the building when he snatched the fire extinguisher. Orbiting Jupiter: my week with Emmanuel Macron

· October 20, 2017 ·

The man does not perspire. I discovered that on 12 September, on the island of Saint Martin, a French territory in the Caribbean that had been devastated a few days earlier by Hurricane Irma. Uprooted trees, roofs ripped from houses, streets blocked by mountains of debris: for three hours Emmanuel Macron, president of France, has been walking through what remains of the village of Grand Case in the sweltering, clammy heat amid the strong odour of burst sewage pipes – or in other words, of shit. Everyone accompanying him, including the author of these lines, is dripping with sweat, literally soaked, with large circles under their arms. Not him. Although he hasn’t had a second to change or freshen up, his white shirt with elegantly rolled-up sleeves is impeccable. And so it will remain until late in the night, when the rest of us are exhausted, haggard and reeking, and he’s still as fresh as a daisy, always ready to shake new hands. Every interaction with Macron follows … [Read more...] about Orbiting Jupiter: my week with Emmanuel Macron

‘It was a single inconclusive event’: Boris Johnson blusters AGAIN over whether he took cocaine 30 years ago after claiming it might have been ICING SUGAR

· June 14, 2019 ·

Boris Johnson blustered again today as he was grilled over taking cocaine - dismissing it as a 'single inconclusive event' more than 30 years ago. The Tory leadership favourite dodged as he was pushed over his previous use of the Class A drug.   Giving his first broadcast interview since the campaign began, Mr Johnson described the incident as 'a single inconclusive event that took place when I was a teenager and which I have extensively described'. Asked if he had used the drug since then, he said bluntly: 'No.'  Mr Johnson also risked softening his tough line on Brexit - believed to be one of the main reason why he has secured such a big advantage in the leadership race. He repeated his commitment to taking the UK out of the EU by the end of October, but added that it would be 'bizarre' to say anything else 'at this stage'.  Boris Johnson (pictured leaving his London home today) is the bookmakers' favourite to replace Theresa May RELATED ARTICLES Previous 1 … [Read more...] about ‘It was a single inconclusive event’: Boris Johnson blusters AGAIN over whether he took cocaine 30 years ago after claiming it might have been ICING SUGAR
