A great-grandmother who was savagely attacked in her retirement home had just returned home after buying flowers and fresh fruit to spruce up her apartment. Patricia, 84, was assaulted by a stranger in broad daylight after entering her bedroom at Huon Park retirement village in North Turramurra in Sydney's northern suburbs on Saturday at 12.30pm. The assailant fled the scene and remains on the run. The attack, described by police as 'appalling and cowardly', came after Patricia returned from a holiday with her daughters and granddaughters. She and her family spent time at the Northern Lights in Finland before visiting her sister in Austria, and finishing the dream trip in London, 7 News reported. Police say that at about 1.45am, a resident called 911 to report that he had awoke to strange noises in his house, and found a man rummaging through his things. The East Islip resident was detained on March 29, 2018, by Suffolk police after he had been knocking on a neighbor's door. Cicale is said to have just left the home of a different neighbor prior to arriving at the second neighbor's home. Police are investigating after human bones were found at the site of a former care home which is being demolished in Melton Mowbray. The bones were found at the site of Catherine Dalley House, which was once a home for elderly but is now being torn down to make way for retirement bungalows. Work was called to a halt yesterday afternoon and police forensics experts moved in following the grim discovery.
