The Bachelor's Chris Harrison has stepped down as the show's host, and former Bachelorette Rachel Lindsay has called this the "right decision". Harrison came under fire for defending current Bachelor contestant Rachael Kirkconnell after old social media pictures emerged of her dressed in Native American attire as a costume and attending an antebellum plantation-themed ball. It was also alleged that she liked racist tweets and an old classmate accused her and her friends of bullying her for dating black men. The show's host has now said he's taking time away from the show and apologised after a huge backlash followed his comments during an interview with Lindsay saying that people should have "a little grace, a little understanding, a little compassion" for Kirkconnell. US jobs grew more than expected last month amid falling COVID-19 cases, rising vaccination rates and extra government support putting the labour market recovery back on firmer footing. Nonfarm payrolls surged 379,000 jobs in March after rising 166,000 in January, according to a closely watched employment report. It followed the first fall in eight months in December. A bumper employment boost in Joe Biden’s first jobs report caused a spike in US government borrowing costs to their highest level in more than a year. Inflation jitters on bond markets were fuelled again by 379,000 jobs being added to the US economy in February, the strongest showing for four months. Forecasters predicted the vaccine rollout and the president’s stimulus jolt will extend the jobs recovery in the coming months after an expectations-smashing report. The labour market quickly regained momentum following the second wave setback with the jobs gain in the first full month under Mr Biden well above forecasts of below 200,000. A WOMAN who's about to celebrate her 100th birthday says she has no plans to retire from her job at McDonald's anytime soon. She said "age is just a number" – and has no plans to quit her job as she celebrates her milestone birthday on March 3. Ruth Shuster has been working at McDonald' s for 25 years – since she was 73, KDKA previously reported. Three days a week, the Pennsylvania resident greets customers and wipes down tables WTAE reported. Of her upcoming birthday, she said: "it’s just a number.” A lively woman, Shuster said she's been working since her partner died 50 years ago.
