Calls for Asda to rethink plans to make employees sign new contracts that could leave them worse off are growing. Workers have been told to sign the so-called 'Contract 6' which would see them lose paid breaks and make bank holiday working mandatory. Asda has said that the new contracts would see worker's basic rate rise to £9 an hour and that Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day will remain voluntary and paid at double time. The GMB Union however, has said that thousands of workers will be left out of pocket. Some Asda workers have also spoken out to say they feel 'trapped' by the new contracts, which were previously available voluntarily. A leaflet apparently handed out to staff suggested that they would have their contracts terminated if they don't sign the new contacts. It reads: "You will have a number of 121s with your manager. As part of the 121 process, we hope you agree to move to the new contract. "If you still don’t want to sign up to the new … [Read more...] about MPs back Asda workers over proposed new contracts

"Motherhood can be very stressful - whether it's financial stresses, time stresses, just trying to get a whole lot done in a very short period of time," she told Fox 5 . "I think it's really important for mothers to be rejuvenated and refreshed." And she added: "It's very important for kids to see that balance that ideally needs to be achieved in a family situation." So what about our Manchester mums? We've been asking them for their thoughts on 'mumcations' and were met with a pretty resounding 'go, go, go'.
