The Rookie is coming to the end of its current set of episodes, with the season finale set for Sunday, May 15 on ABC . Locke and Key has become the latest in a long line of Netflix shows to come to an end after three seasons. The streamer has announced that the fantasy show is to end with its upcoming Season 3. Co-showrunners Carlton Cuse and Meredith Averill released a statement that revealed their reasons as to why Locke and Key is ending—a statement that seems to contradict what they have previously said about the show. Season 3 of the show was filmed back to back with the last set of episodes, and is expected on the streamer this year. Why Is 'Locke and Key' Ending? Per Cuse and Averill's statement: "Once we began working on the series, we felt three seasons was the ideal length to bring the story of the Locke family and their Keyhouse adventures to a satisfying conclusion." A six-minute flypast featuring more than 70 aircraft including the Red Arrows will take place over Buckingham Palace following the Queen's birthday parade during the Platinum Jubilee celebrations. The traditional event, with dozens of aircraft from the Royal Navy, the Army and Royal Air Force, will take to the sky on the first day of the royal celebrations on 2 June, according to the Ministry of Defence (MoD). The Queen is expected to watch from the palace balcony with other members of the royal family - however, the Duke of York and Duke and Duchess of Sussex will not form part of that group . Earlier this month, the Palace announced that the Trooping The Colour balcony appearance would be limited to working members of her family.
