Picture: Chris Gill Archant The Cromer inshore lifeboat was launched to help an inflatable boat with persons on board that had got into difficulties off Overstrand. An RNLI spokesman said: “We were asked to launch the inshore lifeboat at 4.41pm on Wednesday, August 15. “A request had come in from the Coastguard to reports of an inflatable in difficulties off Overstrand.“Once the crew had been paged, the George and Muriel, Cromer’s D class inshore lifeboat, was launched. “Weather conditions were fine with the breeze from the west-south west running at two to three knots; visibility was good and the sea state was flat.“The crew were soon on scene just along the beach near to Overstrand. A fisherman has been mugged at knife-point by two men while he was three miles out to sea. The man, who has not been named, was fishing off Slapton Sands near Dartmouth in south Devon when the men approached his vessel in an inflatable boat. They threatened him with a knife, cut his nets and stole his haul of plaice and Dover sole he had caught. Cops have urged people not to buy fish on the black market as it may be the result of crime. A Kingsbridge police spokesman said: "This morning at about 5.30am a local fisherman was threatened three miles out to sea off Slapton Sands by two men in a white inflatable. “They had cut his nets and stolen the fish. Two men in an inflatable boat have stolen a fisherman's entire haul in a knifepoint mugging that occurred three miles out at sea. The local fisherman was just off the coast of Slapton Sands in Devon which he was approached by the men in a white inflatable vessel and threatened with a knife . Devon and Cornwall Police said the men cut his nets and stole all of the fish he had caught, including plaice and Dover sole. A spokesman for the police said: "This morning at about 5.30am a local fisherman was threatened three miles out to sea off Slapton Sands by two men in a white inflatable. Two young girls blown out to sea on inflatable boat from Irvine beach
Two young girls were rescued on Sunday after their inflatable boat blew out to sea at Irvine beach. And it prompted the the Coastguard to issued an urgent warning after rescuers responded to three separate call-outs over people getting into difficulty on inflatable toys. The rescue came less than 24 hours after a young girl was blown out from Irvine beach to sea on an inflatable unicorn. Her dad, who swam out to rescue her, was also saved by the coastguard. The young girls were around one mile from shore when they were picked up by Troon Lifeboat after being blown away from Irvine beach. The other two call-outs involved an inflatable toy being blown out to sea at Troon and another two persons in an inflatable toy boat being blown out to sea from Ayr beach. Man stuck in the mud on inflatable boat has to be rescued
A man whose inflatable dinghy became stuck on mud was rescued by firefighter in special waders. Two appliances from Greenbank and the Special Rescue Team from Camels Head station raced to Noss Creek in Noss Mayo shortly after 5.30pm yesterday after reports of a man stranded on mud in his inflatable boat. The man was rescued by the Special Rescue Team who were wearing waders and “mudders”.
