Prices in Marmaris are 36% cheaper than last summer due to sterling’s growth against the lira, a Post Office Travel Money study found. Bargains in the resort include a bucket and spade for 82p, a banana boat ride for £6.53, a Mars or Magnum ice cream for 73p and an inflatable lilo for £1.45. After comparing prices for common expenses in 15 popular European holiday destinations, researchers found that prices have fallen in Turkey, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Greece, the Balearic islands, the south of France and Italy. But they aren't cheap - package breaks at popular holiday destinations can easily cost close to a grand per person. There are some holiday destinations that don't have to break the bank though. According to new research by Travel Supermarket, Bulgaria, Turkey, Morocco, Malta and Spain all offer decent deals from the UK this summer. The holiday price comparison site looked at the cost of seven-night overseas package holidays departing between May 1 and September 30 this year. They discovered which countries are likely to offer the best deals and also which holiday resorts averaged a lower price for the all-inclusive breaks.
