More info When coronavirus first came to the UK in early 2020, it caused very distinctive symptoms; namely, a dry and continuous cough, and loss of sense of taste and smell. As a result of this unique combination of symptoms, it was relatively easy for someone to determine whether or not they had COVID-19. However, fast forward to August 2022 and things are much more difficult. Today, COVID-19 shares much of its symptoms with common illnesses such as cold and flu. The best example of this is how Covid has now begun to cause a symptom common to those seasonal bugs which normally peak in the winter. Serena Williams will forever be the GOAT even though Margaret Court has more grand slams

August 9, 2022 by www.telegraph.co.uk

Serena Williams’ announcement of her plan to retire from tennis feels like the end of sport as I know it. I do not remember a sporting landscape without her. As children, my elder sister and I would pick a Williams sister to back in the Wimbledon final (I was always Team Serena). To us, a final with both Venus and Serena felt simultaneously special and inevitable, it happened so often during our formative years; they contested four at the All England Club – in 2002, 2003, 2008 and 2009 – with Serena winning three of them, much to my satisfaction. Serena was a huge part of helping me feel like I belonged when watching male-dominated sport channels. From the first time I saw her bound on to the court in her beaded braids, her mesmerising power and the way she hammered down aces changed the way I viewed sport forever. I do not think it is a stretch to say it changed the way many of my generation did. Her mighty fist pumps and unapologetically loud “come ons!” said I am here to take … [Read more...] about Serena Williams will forever be the GOAT even though Margaret Court has more grand slams

August 14, 2022 by www.thesun.co.uk

THE sweltering nation’s prayers were finally answered as the heavens opened. Three days of thundery downpours are now forecast to end weeks of tinder-dry weather , but flash floods could be on the way. Bone-dry Britain will finally get much-needed downpours this week — just days after The Sun organised a rain dance. But experts fear it may make little difference to the water shortage as it could be the “wrong sort of rain”. But this year the coronavirus pandemic has forced many to put their annual pilgrimage on hold. So how has "the most Scottish town in Italy" coped without them? Luca Galeotti, editor of the local newspaper - Il Giornale di Barga - said there had been a big impact in July and August. He said those months were "different, unusual and a little bit sad". "There wasn't the usual party atmosphere you get meeting all the Barga … [Read more...] about Barga: How Italy’s most Scottish town coped without its annual ‘invasion’
