Prince Harry's "powder keg" UN speech which was mocked by a Supreme Court Judge has been labelled "strange, awkward and misplaced" by a royal expert. The speech from the Duke of Sussex marks another public appearance for the newly rebranded Sussex family, with a crucial period for Harry and Meghan Markle on the horizon. But the speech in New York may have caused some damage, with royal expert Eric Schiffer claiming it made Harry "an attack vector in areas that he was weak on." READ MORE: Prince Harry mocked by US Supreme Court Justice after wading into Roe V Wade debate The UN speech may provide a learning curve for the Sussexes, but it is an opportunity Schiffer believes Harry "should have passed on". Speaking to Daily Star, expert Schiffer said of the speech: "It was strange and awkward and misplaced. It was one of those choices that I think he should have passed on because it seemed unconscious. "Unconsciously uncomfortable for reasons that are logical in … [Read more...] about Prince Harry’s ‘powder keg’ UN speech dubbed ‘strange, awkward, and misplaced’

‘Flippant’ Queen questioned future of Royal Family as popularity plummeted
The Queen is said to have doubted whether or not the Royal Family would survive after feeling her popularity with the public had fallen. Her Majesty had "flippantly" asked whether or not The Firm would survive the series of troubling blows, with a handful of royal experts discussing the reaction of royals to public opinion. A documentary titled The Real Windsors from Channel 4 has claimed that "people started attacking" the 96-year-old monarch for being "out of touch". READ MORE: Meghan and Harry's 'obsessive campaign' to win over royal fans amid Cambridge contest Royal experts were on hand to understand the doubts the Queen had during the early years of her reign as monarch, where she wondered whether the family had a future. Royal historian Robert Lacey said: "We know that the Queen herself was worried in these years about people's opinion of herself and the way she was doing her job. "There's even a quote, at this time, from someone who spoke to the Queen. … [Read more...] about ‘Flippant’ Queen questioned future of Royal Family as popularity plummeted
Quidditch becomes quadball as players distance themselves from ‘anti-trans’ JK Rowling
Quidditch has been rebranded to distance the game from the “anti-trans” JK Rowling. A real-life version of the fictional game from the Harry Potter books is played in the UK and governed by the International Quidditch Association (IQA). The IQA has changed the sport’s name from “quidditch” to “quadball” to distance the game from its creator Rowling, who has been condemned by some transgender campaigners for her gender-critical views. The leadership of the IQA stated that its first reason for the name change was the fact that “JK Rowling, the author of the Harry Potter book series, has increasingly come under scrutiny for her anti-trans positions”. The association had previously recommended that the burgeoning sport , based on the game played by broomstick-riding witches and wizards in Rowling’s fictional universe, should move “away from direct association” with the author. This was because “the name ‘quidditch' and its relationship to JK Rowling carries a stigma that no … [Read more...] about Quidditch becomes quadball as players distance themselves from ‘anti-trans’ JK Rowling
“Jewish people should respect me,” says alt-right leader Richard Spencer on Israeli TV
Speaking in an interview on Israeli television, white nationalist Richard Spencer Wednesday said Jews were "overrepresented" when challenged on antisemitism, adding Jews and Israelis should respect him despite his supremacist views. Spencer, who has previously courted Israeli media, despite engaging in Holocaust denial and refusing to condemn Hitler, made the remarks while speaking to Israeli state broadcaster Channel 2. Read More: Why Israel Is Spending $800 Million on a Hidden New Wall The alt-right figurehead was initially questioned on the weekend's deadly clashes between white supremacist protesters and anti-fascist demonstrators in Charlottesville , Virginia. Spencer refrained from discussing James Alex Fields Jr., the white nationalist who stands accused of deliberately plowing his car into the group of counter protesters and killing 32-year-old Heather Heyer. "We actually don't know if it was murder yet," Spencer said, adding that he was waiting for all the facts … [Read more...] about “Jewish people should respect me,” says alt-right leader Richard Spencer on Israeli TV
When did strip clubs go woke?
Peter Stringfellow was routinely denounced by the Left. But if he were alive today, perhaps they’d defend him. Because, improbable as it may seem, Left-wing councillors in Bristol – Brighton’s closest rival for the title of Britain’s wokest city – have just rejected a proposed ban on strip clubs . According to a Green councillor, shutting down strip clubs would “discount the voices of some women” and “restrict their choices”. A Labour councillor, meanwhile, suggested that strip clubs were actually safer for women than city centre pubs. Hailing the councillors’ decision, the Bristol Sex Workers’ Collective said its members were “screaming, crying, throwing up with joy”. Fascinating how times change. When I was starting out in journalism 20 years ago, I worked at a lads’ mag . Every issue featured photos of female models posing with their clothes off. And people on the Left constantly condemned it. They called it objectifying, degrading, demeaning. They were sickened by the very … [Read more...] about When did strip clubs go woke?
Join my crusade against progressive liberals, Viktor Orban urges US conservatives
Hungary’s prime minister has urged Christian conservatives in the US and Europe to unite forces and battle “progressive liberals” and “globalists” at a Right-wing political meeting in Texas. Viktor Orban said that his country was the “Lone Star State of Europe” and boasted of his tough anti-migration policies and laws against gay marriage at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) in Dallas. “If I am correct, Lone Star State means that independence, freedom and sovereignty are the dearest values in this part of America,” he said. “ Progressive liberals didn’t want me to be here because they knew what I would tell you – because I’m here to tell you that we should unite our forces because we Hungarians know how to defeat the enemies of freedom on the political battlefield,” he said. He added: “We must take back the institutions in Washington and in Brussels [...] we must co-ordinate the movement of our troops, because we face the same challenge. “We are … [Read more...] about Join my crusade against progressive liberals, Viktor Orban urges US conservatives
The government is more worried about its image than helping people with energy bills

They are more interested in their own image with the public than helping them. I am told the government is planning a £20m advertising campaign to publicise their (inadequate) measures to help struggling households. The move has raised eyebrows in Whitehall; officials privately think it pushes the boundaries of what a caretaker administration should be doing, and that the money might be better spent on payments to families. Although the campaign is said to have been approved by the Cabinet Office, one insider said: "It’s highly political. It raises questions of propriety. It’s not what the … [Read more...] about The government is more worried about its image than helping people with energy bills
China ends military drills around Taiwan, vows regular patrols
The Chinese military announced an end to a week of intensive military drills around Taiwan on Wednesday but signaled its intention to continue regular patrols in the sensitive waters between the two countries. Shi Yi, a spokesperson for the People's Liberation Army 's Eastern Theater Command. The exercises originally scheduled from August 4 to 7 were extended twice, and Taiwan's armed forces continued to detect large military maneuvers on August 10. "Theater troops will pay close attention to changes in the situation in the Taiwan Strait, continue to train and prepare, organize regular combat readiness patrols in the Taiwan Strait and resolutely safeguard national sovereignty and territorial integrity," Shi said. Beijing's war games, the largest show of force in the region since the mid-1990s, began shortly after House Speaker Nancy Pelosi … [Read more...] about China ends military drills around Taiwan, vows regular patrols
Neo-Nazi website Daily Stormer tried to register a Russian domain name after being booted from Google
Neo-Nazi website The Daily Stormer briefly took a Russian domain name as it struggled to stay online after being barred from GoDaddy and Google. The extremist site was booted from GoDaddy's domain service Monday, after publishing an article attacking Heather Heyer, the anti-racism activist killed Saturday demonstrating against the "alt-right" white nationalist movement in Charlottesville, Virginia. The site then shifted its domain to Google, only for the search engine giant to promptly bar it, rendering The Daily Stormer inaccessible Tuesday. However, the site was back online briefly Wednesday, with a new Russian domain name: DailyStormer.ru. In a post announcing the site's return, founder Andrew Anglin credited neo-Nazi hacker and site administrator Andrew "weev" Auernheimer with masterminding its comeback, reported Ars Technica. However, attempts by Newsweek to reach the site at its new address yielded an error message only hours later. The Guardian reported that the … [Read more...] about Neo-Nazi website Daily Stormer tried to register a Russian domain name after being booted from Google
Richard Spencer is already planning a “White Lives Matter” rally
Over the weekend, white nationalist Richard Spencer—again—made a visit to a college campus that ended in protest. On the heels of a controversial speech at Auburn University in April and a similar stop in Charlottesville, Virginia, in May, Spencer on Friday attended a demonstration at the University of Virginia, where a mob of torch-bearing protesters fought the removal of a Robert E. Lee statue from a local park. It kicked off a series of clashes, and by Sunday night dozens had been injured and at least three killed, leading some to ask: Where is Spencer heading next? Related: The speech Trump should have made after Charlottesville The answer is: Texas and possibly Florida. Spencer, the president of the National Policy Institute and a self-described creator of the term "alt-right," has been invited to appear at a "White Lives Matter" rally at Texas A&M University on Sept. 11. He has been requested to speak at the University of Florida the following day. People on both … [Read more...] about Richard Spencer is already planning a “White Lives Matter” rally
