The prime minister will use a statement to MPs at 3.30 p.m. to set out her much-anticipated Brexit Plan B, less than a week after parliament overwhelmingly rejected her deal with Brussels. But anyone expecting a dramatic change of course from May’s government looks set to be predictably disappointed. The PM told Cabinet ministers on a conference call last night that her “new” plan is to secure concessions from Brussels on the Irish backstop, and then put her deal to the Commons for a vote in the coming weeks.
