‘We tried the 3×3 rule in our marriage and we’ve never been happier’

· March 3, 2021 ·

Becoming a parent changes your relationship. The time that you used to spend as a couple gets replaced with potty training and household chores - and thanks to those sleepless nights, you might end up more irritable than ever. So a shattered mum shared a rule that gave her and her partner a much-needed break. The anonymous woman told Kidspot that the rule was first introduced to the marriage after her husband took an unscheduled nap while their kids were awake. Hours after a heat-of-the-moment argument, when the kids had gone to bed, her husband suggested they try the '3x3 rule', which was mentioned to him by a friend who'd been to see a marriage councillor. It's a technique whereby each parent got three hours each throughout the week that was just for them. She explained that those hours can be broken up or taken all at once - but each parent should spend this time completely alone, doing whatever they want. On top of that, they should set aside an additional three … [Read more...] about ‘We tried the 3×3 rule in our marriage and we’ve never been happier’

Up to 90% of UK summer holidays are now sold out following booking boom – here is how to still find a great deal

· March 3, 2021 ·

AS MANY as 90 per cent of summer holidays are sold out as UK tour operators warn that bookings are still soaring. Brits opting to stay in the UK for a holiday this year are likely to be left disappointed with little left on the market. The government announced that domestic holidays can start as soon as April 12 as long as cases continue to drop, but this is only for one household, and at self-catered accommodation. From May 17, group holidays can go ahead while hotels will reopen, and June 21 is the earliest that travel restrictions may be fully eased. This has led to surging demand for UK holidays especially in popular destinations such as Cornwall , Devon and Dorset. According to the Telegraph , self-catered accommodation website Unique Homestays has warned that 92 per cent of summer holiday dates are booked up, with Oliver's Travels has just eight per cent of properties still available during the summer season. Last month, Sun Online Travel revealed that … [Read more...] about Up to 90% of UK summer holidays are now sold out following booking boom – here is how to still find a great deal

Germany places entire far-right AfD under surveillance — reports

· January 3, 2021 ·

Germany's Federal Office for the Protection of the Constitution (BfV) have placed the Alternative for Germany (AfD) under surveillance, according to local media. That designation gives state agents more powers for surveillance in certain circumstances, including potentially tapping the party's communications. The BfV refused to comment on media reports from Der Spiegel magazine, the DPA news agency and public broadcaster ARD. The Interior Ministry, which oversees the BfV, said it would neither confirm nor deny them. Why has there been no official statement? The BfV is apparently unable to announce the decision officially because of an ongoing legal dispute. A court in the city of Cologne last week rejected an urgent motion by the AfD to stop the BfV from placing it under formal investigation . The party said any announcement that it was being investigated would undermine its right to fight the election on an equal footing to other political parties. In response, the … [Read more...] about Germany places entire far-right AfD under surveillance — reports
