Amazing places in the world
THE moment your plane starts to land is always exciting – and made even more so if you’ve got amazing scenery around you when you touch down. The most spectacular airport landings in the world have officially been named – with Donegal Airport in Ireland being named as the most beautiful for landing views. PrivateFly ran a public vote, and also asked aviation experts and travel influencers for their verdict. A dog from Wales has been named the third ugliest dog in the world. Nearly-hairless, toothless pooch Chase now officially holds the title. But to owner, Storm Shayler, the pup is beautiful as he's helped her to get through some of the hardest times in her life, Wales Online reports . Little Chase has aided Storm through post-traumatic stress disorder and anxiety after losing her mother in a horrifying road accident when she was 18. Now he is her assistance dog. “Beauty is in the eye of the beholder,” says Storm, 49, who works at Morriston Hospital in Swansea. “Having a dog with me gives me that little bit more confidence.” The pair, who live together in Cimla with Storm's other pet dogs, are so devoted that when Storm goes to her best friend’s wedding later this month, cheeky Chase - who’s now 14 - will come along as her plus-one. Storm’s problems began on the night her beloved mum died. Then just a teenager, she was travelling home from work … [Read more...] about Chinese crested dog from Wales crowned the third ugliest pet in the world
Christine Osazuwa has found her place in Stockholm. Photo: Maximillian Franz When Christine Osazuwa arrived in Stockholm in July 2017, it was the first time the Baltimore native had stepped foot on Swedish soil. However, she’d already made up her mind to stay. And having survived her first winter, she’s convinced that she made the right decision. So just how did an American with no apparent connection to Sweden wind up living in Stockholm? “I knew what most Americans know about Sweden, that it’s very liberal and there are a lot of opportunities,” Christine tells The Local. Following the US election, Christine and her husband packed their bags and figuratively set sail for Stockholm, seeking a city more in line with their political beliefs. For Christine, it was also a priority to move to a city where her gender wouldn't hinder her professional potential. Find out what makes Stockholm 'A Woman's Place' The couple knew about Sweden’s glowing … [Read more...] about Is this the best place in the world to be a woman?
