Police are investigating after gun shots were fired in Broadheath. Officers were called to reports of shots fired at an address on Peveril Road, near to Altrincham Retail Park, shortly after 10pm on Tuesday. A statement from Greater Manchester Police confirmed nobody was injured in the incident and no damage was caused. Several properties in the street were taped off by police on Wednesday morning. Neighbours reported hearing ‘loud bangs’ at the time of the incident, but assumed it was fireworks being let off after England’s World Cup win. A man was trapped in an overturned car following a crash. The collision, between a grey Citroen C1 and white Toyota Prius on Viaduct Road, Altrincham , happened just after 10pm on Friday. One man suffered serious injuries but five other casualties were said to have freed themselves from the wreckage. Residents in the area shared their reports of the incident on social media after seeing emergency services being scrambled to the scene. One said: “Car is on its side with half the front missing, fire engines, ambulance, police sectioned road off.” A Greater Manchester Fire Service spokeswoman confirmed they were called to the crash site at 10.37pm. Antony Cotton was spotted filming a shock new Coronation Street storyline as his character Sean Tully ends up homeless and begging on the streets. Antony, in character as Sean, filmed a scene showing the Underworld worker begging outside a bakery in Altrincham. He was seen seated on the pavement with a cup reading ‘thank you’ written on it, but despite ending up down on his luck it has to be said that Sean looked dapper with what appears to be a fresh haircut, smart blue jacket and snazzy white shirt worn over a pristine-looking white T-shirt. Popular Sean becomes homeless in a distressing new storyline for the soap and the knicker-stitcher will end up living in a tent in the park. Lancaster City were beaten 2-1 at home to Evo Stik Premier Division leaders Altrincham on Saturday.
