Newly unsealed court documents from Depp's defamation lawsuit against Amber Heard have revealed a number of new cross accusations and allegations - that both parties were prevented from flinging at each other -two months on from the actor successfully winning his libel case against his ex-wife. It's reported that unsealed pretrial court documents claim that the Pirates of the Caribbean actor, 59, allegedly wanted to submit his former wife's nude pictures as evidence during the high-profile trial earlier this year. ‘Lacklustre’ Prince Harry, Meghan Markle branded ‘failures in the making’
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have been branded ineffective and ‘flaccid’ failures who “couldn’t become leading voices.” Royal commentator and author Daniela Elser blasted the Duke and Duchess of Sussex with this allegation. She penned the entire allegation in her new piece for news.com.au. It began with a callout and reads, “More importantly for their Netflix and Spotify paymasters, they have failed to genuinely set themselves up as leading voices of the day.” “They might do their darnedest to sell themselves as inspiring leaders but the proof is in the flaccid pudding that was the lacklustre turnout to Harry’s recent UN speech.” … [Read more...] about ‘Lacklustre’ Prince Harry, Meghan Markle branded ‘failures in the making’
‘Very concerned’: PTI reacts to court’s ruling on Shahbaz Gill’s remand

Taking to Twitter, Imran Khan said that he was "very concerned" about Shahbaz Gill being sent into police remand again. “He is in a fragile state of mental and physical health because of the torture inflicted on him when he was abducted and taken to an undisclosed location and then again at the police station,” he added. He said that Gill's remand is a "part of the conspiracy to target me and PTI by forcibly getting false statements against us similar to what they have been doing against social media activists". What Happens When Drill and the Justice System Clash in the Courtroom?
Photo-Illustration: Dakarai Akil; Photos: Getty Shortly after the deaths of two aspiring rappers earlier this year, New York City Mayor Eric Adams appeared to take a hard line against drill rap, stressing in a February speech that social media companies should pull the genre’s displays of gun violence from their apps, comparing the removal to Trump’s Twitter suspension. His words sparked backlash, as they not only seemed to toy with the idea of censorship but also evoked the language of authorities’ long-standing moral panic over music created by Black and brown artists. Adams, a former NYPD cop, walked back his comments following a meeting with several rappers — including Fivio Foreign and Maino — which he described as a “great conversation,” and claimed to have reassured performers that he didn’t want to ban drill outright. The city’s official tone on drill might have shifted, but the fact remains that the discourse amongst some authorities surrounding the subgenre seems … [Read more...] about What Happens When Drill and the Justice System Clash in the Courtroom?
Why the sale of guns on Facebook in Iraq is so ‘rife’
Facebook users in Iraq are exploiting the platform's lack of Arabic and Kurdish-language moderation policies in order to purchase guns online, according to a report. The study by the Institute of Strategic Dialogue (ISD) has found that the sale of weapons in Iraq is "rife" in Facebook comment sections. Social media giants have long been accused of failing to effectively moderate harmful and dangerous content, particularly in regions such as the Middle East. Meta — the parent company of Facebook — has fewer resources to tackle content in various languages and dialects than in English. The lack of moderation in Arabic and Kurdish has created an open gun market on Facebook in Iraq, said Moustafa Ayad, the ISD Executive Director for Africa, Middle East & Asia. "It was relatively easy to find weapons for sale on comments sections of very large Facebook pages, pages with over 2 million followers," Ayad told Euronews. According to his research, some of the … [Read more...] about Why the sale of guns on Facebook in Iraq is so ‘rife’
