THE SUNSPOT Solar Observatory has finally explained why it was mysteriously evacuated - after sparking a wave of UFO theories. Staff members at the world-famous site in, New Mexico, were told to immediately leave the building last month. The facility was raided by the FBI who arrived in blackhawk helicopters - and has been closed ever since. Conspiracy theorists are continuing to suggest that employees may have seen extra-terrestrial life while they were capturing live footage of the sun. AURA, the astronomy research organisation that runs the observatory have denied aliens are to blame. A statement read: "AURA has been cooperating with an on-going law enforcement investigation of criminal activity that occurred at Sacramento Peak. "During this time, we became concerned that a suspect in the investigation potentially posed a threat to the safety of local staff and residents. "For this reason, AURA temporarily vacated the facility and ceased science activities at this location." … [Read more...] about US space centre FINALLY reveals why it suddenly closed without explanation… but will the ‘alien sighting’ conspiracy theorists buy it?
Brian Broom Mississippi Clarion Ledger Published 11:25 p.m. UTC Aug 13, 2018 It was an event he has been reluctant to speak about, yet it shaped much of his life. Calvin Parker, now of Moss Point, along with friend Charles Hickson, claimed they were abducted by aliens while fishing on the Pascagoula River and now Parker has written a book he hopes will set the record straight. "Pascagoula — The Closest Encounter, My Story" was recently published. It contains the first full account of the event given by Parker along with how it affected his life. It includes photos, documents and newspaper articles written through the years. It also marks the first time a transcription of a hypnosis session with Parker has been published. Parker hopes it will clear the air. "It was Oct. 11, 1973," Parker said. "We'd gotten off work that day and a friend of mine, he and I went fishing. More: Mysterious radio signal from space? YOU might think that at the ripe old age of 91, veteran naturalist David Attenborough would be ready to retire from the documentary game. But there are strong signs at the BBC that Sir David, recently voted Britain's best-loved celebrity, could be back on our screens in 2021, fronting a sequel to Frozen Planet. In 2011, the original series took viewers to Earth's most hostile, wintry landscapes, shining a light on freezing seas beneath Arctic glaciers and filming the creatures living at the peaks of snow-capped mountains. And The Times reports that after the phenomenal success of Blue Planet II, we can now expect a blockbuster second series of Frozen Planet in 2021, accidentally revealed by the BBC in a job ad for a producer with ice-diving experience. In the tell-tale listing, the BBC's Natural History Unit says it's after staff for a "new and ambitious" project which will showcase "the wonder and majesty of the frozen third of our planet". The new Frozen Planet will aim to raise … [Read more...] about Waterfalls of blood, fish with anti-freeze in their veins and fluorescent worms… are these the incredible sights we can expect from David Attenborough’s Frozen Planet II?
Pretty much since pop music was invented, musicians have had a love affair with alien life. Not just the songs that reference ET (including, but certainly not limited to, Frank Zappa’s “Alien Orifice”, “Girl from Mars” by Ash, anything by David Bowie, and the highly recommended “The Martians Have Landed in Wigan”, the Bernard Wrigley poem put to music by the Houghton Weavers), but the ongoing fascination – and in some cases devout belief – with the idea that something is out there. Why pop stars should be so obsessed with aliens is up for discussion. Perhaps it’s the long days on the road which gives ample opportunity for staring at the sky through the windows of a tour bus. Maybe it’s the creative soul tapping into an ethereal, otherworldly sphere that forms a connection to the greater universe and its denizens. Or it could just be the drugs. Not casting aspersion, of course, on anyone mentioned in this article, but … [Read more...] about Pop stars and aliens: why would the likes of David Bowie and Olivia Newton-John believe in extraterrestrials?
