A nurse plunged nearly 70 feet to her death after falling from a water park zip line whose launch platform was hastily assembled just hours before. Yasmili Araujo, 23, died in front of her boyfriend and friends at the Piracema Park Club water park in Rio Branco, northern Brazil, on July 2. She had climbed to the top of the zip line launch platform without any protection and suddenly disappeared through a hole, it was reported. Grambling announced Tuesday the firing of volleyball coach Chelsey Lucas. The decision was made after an internal investigation into the volleyball program based on reports of Lucas cutting every player on the team and revoking their scholarships. “The success of student-athletes and their ability to matriculate at Grambling State University is the top priority,” said Trayvean Scott, Grambling's vice president for athletics. “As we move forward in this transition and commence a national search for the next coach, all volleyball student-athletes who received scholarships for the 2022-23 academic year will keep their scholarships and remain on the team. A master plan is almost finished but just when Spotswood College’s $23 million rebuild will begin or end is still up in the air, despite it being first announced two years ago. On July 3, 2020, the government announced Spotswood’s funding as part of its National Education Growth Plan, which allocated $126m to four new projects in a national school rebuild programme . But two years on and there’s no clear idea about when it will start or how long it will take.
