Alexander Wang put his hand down my trousers and grabbed my genitals at New York club, says student

· February 24, 2021 ·

FASHION designer Alexander Wang is facing further allegations of sexual misconduct as a student alleges he was groped on a nightclub dancefloor. Keaton Bullen, 21, a student at New York's Parsons School of Design, alleges he was assaulted by Wang, 37, at a club in the city in 2019. He claims the fashion tycoon “unzipped his trousers” and started “grabbing my penis” at Fishbowl club, he told the BBC . Mr Bullen, then 20, was with a friend at the club in New York City when he says he encountered Alexander Wang on 24 August 2019 at about 11.30pm. He told the BBC they initially talked about their shared college, Parsons School of Design in lower Manhattan, where Mr Bullen is currently studying interior design. Wang then invited him to his table and offered him vodka before leading him to the dance floor, Mr Bullen alleges. "All of a sudden he unzipped my trousers, put his hands in my pants and started grabbing my penis in front of a bunch of people," said the student. … [Read more...] about Alexander Wang put his hand down my trousers and grabbed my genitals at New York club, says student

Viktor Babariko: The Belarusian banker who challenged Lukashenko

· January 18, 2021 ·

Viktor Babariko told supporters in a statement released ahead of his trial on Wednesday that the past year had been one of "victory over the slavery we carried in our souls" even if a political victory over authoritarian President Alexander Lukashenko's regime has so far failed to materialize. "For years they convinced us that Belarusians couldn't do without an iron fist to lead us," he said. "That we were incapable of taking independent decisions and taking responsibility for our future." Babariko's message was penned in the prison cell where he has spent the past eight months. Months in which Belarus has changed in profound ways ; changes he has only been able to follow from behind bars. A presidential campaign cut short Babariko's problems with the Belarusian judiciary began in early June 2020, just weeks into a whirlwind presidential campaign that saw hundreds of thousands of Belarusians sign his bid to register as a presidential candidate. Initial online polling put … [Read more...] about Viktor Babariko: The Belarusian banker who challenged Lukashenko

Yachts, lavish parties and A-list friends: Inside the hedonistic life of Bumble’s queen bee Whitney Wolfe Herd, 30, as she defends claims her Russian billionaire backer and friend ‘oversaw a misogynistic, sleazy work culture’

· July 9, 2019 ·

Bumble CEO Whitney Wolfe Herd lives a life filled with lavish parties, overseas trips and A-list friends but the dating app queen bee has now been dragged into a saga involving her Russian billionaire business partner and claims of sex, drugs and misogyny. Wolfe Herd has made a name for herself thanks to Bumble - the female empowering dating app she helped launch five years ago and maintains a 20 percent stake in. The 30-year-old, who according to Forbes is worth $300 million, helped launch the dating app with the backing of Russian online dating tycoon Andrey Andreev. But Wolfe Herd has found herself having to defend Andreev this week following allegations published in Forbes that he oversees a misogynistic and sleazy culture within Bumble's parent company, Badoo. Among the explosive allegations made by former staffers are that the objectification of women was routine and there were cocaine and ketamine-fueled parties with prostitutes in the office. The claims pose … [Read more...] about Yachts, lavish parties and A-list friends: Inside the hedonistic life of Bumble’s queen bee Whitney Wolfe Herd, 30, as she defends claims her Russian billionaire backer and friend ‘oversaw a misogynistic, sleazy work culture’

Pandemic profits: Descendant of last Dutch governor of NY Peter Stuyvesant made $3BILLION last year betting on companies – including Peloton and Zoom – that have soared in last 12 months

· February 11, 2021 ·

A descendant of the last Dutch governor of New York has been named the world's top-earning hedge fund manager for 2020 after adding $3 billion to his fortune in just one year. Chase Coleman III,  who is related to Peter Stuyvesant who governed New York in the 1600s, was No. 1 on Bloomberg 's annual list of the top-earning hedge fund managers. Collectively, the 15 hedge fund managers on the list added $23.2billion to their personal fortunes in a year that saw the global economy battered by the coronavirus pandemic and accompanying lockdowns - more than the annual GDPs of Iceland or Zambia. Coleman, who runs a hedge fund called Tiger Global that focuses on tech companies, benefited from bets placed on companies that ended up soaring during the pandemic. Some of his well-timed holdings? Pandemic darlings Zoom, which has gained 390 percent over the past year and Peloton, which is up more than 118 percent over the same time frame. Bumble founder becomes a billionaire at 31: Woman exec who quit Tinder after accusing male co-founders of sexually harassing her floats her female-friendly dating app for $13bn

· February 12, 2021 ·

Bumble founder Whitney Wolfe Herd has become a billionaire at 31 after taking the dating app public, boosting her wealth from $500million to $1.6billion. Wolfe Herd already lives a life filled with lavish parties, overseas trips and A-list friends after founding the female-empowering dating app in 2014, following her departure from Tinder over claims of sexual discrimination and harassment from male co-founders. The married mother-of-one was one of five co-founders of Tinder, but quit the start-up company in 2014 and sued fellow partners Sean Rad and her ex-lover Justin Mateen for sexual harassment. She claimed that Mateen became 'verbally controlling and abusive' after their on-off on romance ended, and that she was called a 'slut' and a 'liar'. The case was settled by Tinder. The fall-out from that legal battle drove workaholic Herd - who says she wakes up every two hours in the night to check her emails - to create Bumble with the tag line ‘by women, for women’. The app … [Read more...] about Bumble founder becomes a billionaire at 31: Woman exec who quit Tinder after accusing male co-founders of sexually harassing her floats her female-friendly dating app for $13bn
