Dr Alex George and Alexandra Cane were brutally dumped from the Island this evening - just one day before the final. On Friday, each of the Islanders had to vote off one other couple. This meant that Laura Anderson and Paul Knops, Josh Denzel and Kazimir Crossley, and Alex and Alexandra were at risk of being dumped from the Island. But Alex and Alexandra received the fewest votes from the public and were booted out of the villa. On leaving the villa, the doctor insisted that it was the right time to go, considering they were the only pair not romantically coupled. He said: "I feel like it’s been an incredible journey, I have had so many highs and some lows as well. I think at this point and where I’ve got to and how the journey has been, it’s the right time. "Alexandra and I didn’t work out romantically but at the same time we’ve had a chance to become friends and get over what happened. I think it was the right time because I leave on a happy note, and leave feeling … [Read more...] about Love Island’s Dr Alex George and Alexandra Cane brutally DUMPED just one day before final

Alex Salmond set to elaborate on claims that Nicola Sturgeon misled Scottish Parliament
Scotland's former first minister Alex Salmond is set to elaborate today on claims that his successor Nicola Sturgeon misled parliament. Mr Salmond will give evidence to Holyrood's harassment committee following his written submission which levelled accusations against Ms Sturgeon as well as senior figures in her government and party. He has accused the current first minister of misleading parliament over what she knew - and when - about harassment complaints against him in 2018, and that she breached the ministerial code as a result. An A to Z guide to the explosive scandal at the top of Scottish politics Mr Salmond also claims that she breached the code on a number of other occasions, notably by failing to act on legal advice in a court action that cost the taxpayer more than £600,000. A minister breaching the ministerial code is expected to offer their resignation. Nicola Sturgeon has repeatedly denied doing so. Amy Hart fumes Love Island stars ‘shouldn’t be written off’ in row over furlough
Amy Hart responded furiously to a troll who claimed they were shocked that " Love Island stars had a better understanding of the fairness of the furlough scheme than the government". Responding to the comment, former air hostess Amy insisted that Love Islanders are 'generally intelligent' and should not 'be written off' as she fumed about her fellow islanders being constantly underestimated. Amy, 26, said that some contestants were more than just bikini-clad influencers and had a lot to say for themselves. The row came as Amy took to Twitter to suggest: "'If furlough is extended till the summer, surely now, anyone who hasn't had any help but have had their work affected should get a one off grant at the very least?" One of her followers then scathed: "'So we now have Love Island contestants with more empathy and understanding of small businesses than the Conservatives and Rishi Sunak . Hope the abandonment of core voters costs them the next election. Clueless." Amy … [Read more...] about Amy Hart fumes Love Island stars ‘shouldn’t be written off’ in row over furlough
The conspiracy business: How to make money with fake news
All advertising is in some sense a form of falsification. But while once the message probably had an actual thing — a car or a hamburger, perhaps — to sell, today the message itself is often the product. "The source of value is the watching labor performed by the audience — this after all is the activity that produces audience attention, which is the good being sold," Zoe Sherman, a lecturer at Merrimack College, told DW. The audience's job is to watch and this work is paid in kind, with entertainment, rather than in monetary wages, Sherman suggests. "The media generates a surplus by generating revenues through the sale of advertising space that exceed the cost of generating the content that attracted the audience," she adds. Her explanation may also go some way to explaining rising obesity figures in the US. So, when business and politics become so closely entwined — as they did so egregiously during the presidency of Donald Trump — it can hardly come as a surprise that … [Read more...] about The conspiracy business: How to make money with fake news

TIGER Woods’ family worry he may get hooked on painkillers as he recovers from his horrific car crash. A source said the golf icon , who has been in rehab, has a “deep-seated” issue with prescription drugs — and warned a “potentially huge problem” lies ahead. Tiger , 45, suffered serious leg and ankle injuries in the crash near Los Angeles earlier this week. Yesterday US President Barrack Obama sent "prayers" to Tiger Woods, tweeting "Sending my prayers to @TigerWoods and his family tonight—here’s to a speedy recovery for the GOAT of golf. "If we’ve learned anything over the years, it’s to never count Tiger out." It comes as police officials say that the golfer won't face criminal charges, with Deputy Carlos Gonzalez adding: "This remains an accident, an accident is not a crime, they do happen, unfortunately." Asked whether or not any drugs of alcohol tests were done at the scene, Gonzalez said: "The Deputy on the scene assessed the condition of Tiger Woods and … [Read more...] about Tiger Woods accident latest news – Crash injuries could see golfer hooked on painkiller meds again, friends fear
