There has been uproar this week at the appointment of a man as Scotland's first “ Period Dignity officer ”. Tam Pax, aged 33, explained that he thought it was a positive advantage never having known what it was like to worry that your skirt had blood on the back, after you came on early, or never having experienced the gnawing fear caused by a late period. “I think being a man will help me to break down barriers, reduce stigma and encourage more open discussion,” beamed Tam. “I believe I can make progress by proving this isn’t just a female topic.” Well, actually, it sort of is. Disney is revamping “The Proud Family,” a 20-year-old cartoon sitcom about an African American family, and will be featuring a cast that includes two interracial gay dads whose adopted daughter is a teenage racial activist. Actors Zachary Quinto and Billy Porter, both of whom are gay, will be playing Barry Leibowitz-Jenkins and Randall Leibowitz-Jenkins, respectively, according to Entertainment Weekly (EW). A woman has told Sky News that a man wanted for extradition to the US has the "greedy little claws" of the attacker who sexually assaulted her. Mary, whose full name we are withholding, says she recognises the "chubby fingers" of Nicholas Rossi on the man who was arrested in Glasgow. He insists he is a victim of mistaken identity and that his real name is Arthur Knight. However, his fingerprints match those of Rossi and the US authorities want him extradited to stand trial on rape charges in the state of Utah. Authorities in Utah say Rossi fled the US to avoid prosecution and adopted the name Arthur Knight after faking his own death. Rossi was convicted of sexually assaulting Mary at a college in Ohio in 2008. It was a DNA sample from that attack that linked him to the Utah case.
