0 Have your say WHAT BEGAN as a rout turned into a sensational thriller at Elland Road last night. Castleford Tigers gained a small measure of revenge for last year’s Betfred Super League Grand Final defeat with a 25-24 win, but Leeds staged a remarkable rally.Cas scored at a point per minute in the opening 24,but Leeds scored 24 of the next 25, Luke Gale’s drop goal on the stroke of half-time, which made it 25-10, proving the difference.Leeds scored five tries to four and Watkins had a touchline conversion attempt to win it two minutes from time, but could not find the target.Over the last few years it’s been clear that if Cas are below-par, Rhinos can match or outplay them. The second half of last year’s Super-8s clash and the Grand Final were examples and Leeds were the better team, for much of Friday night’s game. But if Tigers play well, Leeds don’t know how to cope. Thanks to our friends at the Evening Gazette, here's a look at all the contenders from their respective reporters across the country. Get a look at how they compare to Wolves and Villa, both of whom are vying for the automatic promotion spots. Meanwhile the EFL will meet with club officials to discuss the club’s owners … [Read more...] about Championship run-in: How do Wolves and Aston Villa compare with the pack?

It’s rated behind Bournemouth beach at number one, Luskentyre beach (Isle of Harris) at number two and Rhossili Bay at number three. Brighton beach has always been a popular tourist spot but after reaching an all-time high number of ten million-day trips in 2014, tourism in Brighton dropped the following year. The bounceback began in 2016, when visitor figures rose by 5.8 per cent compared with 2015. This also had a positive effect on Brighton’s economy with income from daytrippers increasing 6.2 per cent in 2016. The shores and sea aren’t the only things that attract people to the beach, with Brighton Palace Pier one of the main attractions. Brighton Palace Pier Group CEO Anne Ackord said “We’re very proud that Brighton beach … [Read more...] about Brighton beach voted fourth best in the UK
MUSEUM: V&A Dundee Not so very long now. At some point in the second half of 2018 the V&A Dundee will open its doors for the first time, marking the opening of a building designed by Kengo Kuma that has cost in the region of £80m and represents another giant step in Dundee's revival. Kuma's 21st-century ziggurat sits snugly alongside Captain Scott's Discovery and a mere hop, skip and dropped stitch away from the Dundee Contemporary Arts centre.
