Universal Credit has a bad reputation. The Department for Work and Pensions - along with the Government ministers who set welfare policy - have received fierce criticism for how one of the biggest reforms of the benefits system for decades has been handled. It replaced six legacy benefits with one monthly payment - but there have been challenges. Some Teessiders have brought their complaints to Teesside Live, while nationally there's been concerns raised about long waits for a first payment, difficulties with budgeting, and problems accessing and understanding online systems. But for staff at Middlesbrough's Jobcentre on Corporation Road, which along with the Thorntree office helps more than 5,500 claimants on Universal Credit, those stories don't ring true. Paul Kita was slammed after he ordered people to ditch the microwave when warming their cold pies the morning after the night before. Paul, who wrote the article on Men’s Health: “Microwaves heat unevenly, and this is especially true when applied to pizza. “Pizza reheated in the microwave is flabby and gummy and grotesque and leaves you feeling like less of a human.” Paul said pizza-lovers should put their slices in a cast iron pan, on a medium heat, with the lid on. A BRITISH lawyer to the rich and famous has died off the coast of Gibraltar this morning. Arthur Timothy Lawson-Cruttenden, 64, got caught up in rough seas while body surfing during a trip to visit family on The Rock. It has been reported that he was body surfing alone and got stuck in rough seas. Traffic police officers were first on the scene and pulled him out of the water but medics were unable to save him. Mr Lawson-Cruttenden Sex Pistols frontman John Lydon, David Walliams, and rock groups The Clash and The Blockheads during a 40-year legal career specialising in harassment claims. THE Duke of Edinburgh was involved in a shocking car crash on January 17 near the Sandringham Estate, crashing into two women and a baby and rolling his own car.
