Leeds join Tottenham and AC Milan in Lucas Vazquez transfer race with Real Madrid star available for FREE in summer

· March 5, 2021 ·

LEEDS have joined Tottenham and AC Milan in the race to sign Lucas Vazquez on a free transfer, according to reports. The Real Madrid winger, 29, is out of contract at the end of the season. And Sport Witness claim Marcelo Bielsa's side are weighing up an offer for the nine-cap Spain international. The Whites brought in attackers Helder Costa, Rodrigo and Raphinha on permanent deals last summer - although they face a battle to keep hold of the latter amid growing transfer interest . The Elland Road club understandably want to bolster the squad as they look to cement their status as a Premier League mainstay once again. And the three-time Champions League winner would certainly help do that. Vazquez also boasts two LaLiga titles and three Club World Cup winner's medals to his name. In total, the wide man has 26 goals in 233 appearances for Real Madrid . After struggling for game time last season, he is back in the fold as a first-team regular this term - … [Read more...] about Leeds join Tottenham and AC Milan in Lucas Vazquez transfer race with Real Madrid star available for FREE in summer

Rio Ferdinand praises his wife Kate’s homeschooling skills during lockdown

· March 6, 2021 ·

Rio Ferdinand has praised his wife Kate's homeschooling skills during lockdown as he admitted his kids find him a "stern teacher". The former England footballer told how he is a "three out of 10" as a teacher due to his "lack of patience" but gives Kate a "nine out of 10". He also admitted as he discussed the new football-themed Numbers Game on the online education platform, Twinkl that his children think he's 'hard' and even 'grumpy'. The Man United legend, 42, applauded Kate as he showed his appreciation for teachers across the UK, saying: "I have so much respect for what teachers do. It's a hard job. "The thing I've noticed is how intense it can be and how the teachers manage it all day and the pressures of managing all these different kids who have different ideas with the ways they want to learn. "But one of the biggest things we've learnt to respect from teachers is their patience to deal with the kids. "As a teacher I'm a three out of 10 because of my lack of … [Read more...] about Rio Ferdinand praises his wife Kate’s homeschooling skills during lockdown

COVID-19: UK should prepare now for ‘difficult autumn’ and ‘hard winter’, warns Public Health England official

· March 7, 2021 ·

The UK should prepare for a "difficult autumn" due to the threat of new coronavirus variants emerging and a potential surge in other respiratory viruses, a senior health official has warned. Dr Susan Hopkins, Public Health England's strategic response director for COVID-19 , said the population may have less immunity to respiratory viruses such as flu due to the coronavirus pandemic. Nazanin Zaghari-Ratcliffe’s husband ‘in limbo’ after Christmas hopes dashed

· December 28, 2017 ·

The husband of detained British woman Nazanin Zaghari-Ratcliffe said he was in limbo after hopes that she would be home from Iran in time for Christmas were dashed. Richard Ratcliffe spent his second festive period apart from his wife and three-year-old daughter Gabriella - but said the situation now was "a lot more positive" than last year. Mrs Zaghari-Ratcliffe, who is British-Iranian, was arrested in Tehran in 2016 and is serving a five-year sentence over allegations - which she denies - of planning to topple Iran's government. Hopes for progress have been raised after a visit to the country earlier in December by Foreign Secretary Boris Johnson - who had previously come under political pressure after a gaffe about the case. Last week it emerged she had been marked as "eligible for early release" on the Iranian judiciary's database.
