US detectives hunting a fugitive who they say faked his death and fled to Scotland told a priest to cancel a sham memorial mass. Father Bernard Healy has told Sky News he received a phone call from a 'woman' sounding like Hyacinth Bucket, the character from the comedy Keeping Up Appearances, but police told him it was the fugitive using a "voice disguiser". Nicholas Rossi, whose aliases include Nicholas Alahverdian, is wanted in the state of Utah on rape charges. US authorities believe he's the man based in Glasgow calling himself Arthur Knight , who is now the subject of extradition proceedings. Father Healey, the Pastor of Our Lady of Mercy Church in East Greenwich, Rhode Island, had come across Alahverdian as a youngster working at the Rhode Island State House. Following reports of his supposed death in February 2020, he received a phone call from a woman claiming to be his widow. He said: "It was a woman's voice with an English accent and she was very strange. … [Read more...] about ‘Arthur Knight’: Man in UK accused of being US fugitive ‘tried to organise fake memorial mass by posing as grieving widow’

Armie Hammer's life as a Hollywood star came crashing down amidst a flood of accusations involving sexual misconduct, possible cannibalism and other unseemly acts in early 2021. On Wednesday, talk about those allegations returned after Discovery+ released its first trailer for an upcoming documentary that features Hammer's accusers. The three-part House of Hammer docuseries promises to not only cover claims made against Hammer by some of the women who've accused him of sexual assault, but the project will also touch on the alleged history of abuse within his family. The separation seemed amicable at first, but by January 2021, the first tales of abuse hit the news when a woman with an anonymous Instagram account claimed she had recently been involved in a years-long affair with the Call Me By Your Name actor. … [Read more...] about Armie Hammer cannibalism, abuse allegations resurface ahead of documentary
Academy Award-winning producer Scott Rudin (“The Social Network,” “No Country for Old Men”) has a reputation for allegedly abusing people in the workplace. In a lengthy expose in The Hollywood Reporter (THR), several of Rudin’s former staffers alleged that the producer, who already had a reputation for being hot-tempered, would regularly engage in verbally and physically abusive behavior in the office. The screen shattered, leaving the young man bleeding and in need of immediate medical attention. How serious are we as a society about protecting women and girls? There is a strong cultural consensus, backed up by legislation, that deplores and forbids any form of sexual violence. And yet women and girls continue to be subject to attack. Every case is an outrage that seriously undermines the sense of security to which every female is entitled. As a man, I wouldn't think twice about walking to the shops at night yet my wife and daughters would hesitate – because of the threat posed by other men. That's something I am determined to change. As Chancellor, I made it one of my priorities to boost support for victims. By 2024/25, we will invest £192million a year into victim support, including 1,000 independent sexual violence advisers and 24/7 support for rape victims. I also funded Operation Soteria, a ground-breaking new approach to policing, making police investigations less intrusive for victims and putting them at the forefront so that more perpetrators face justice. … [Read more...] about Sexual violence against women and girls should be treated as a national emergency until it’s been defeated, writes RISHI SUNAK
By Divya Arya Published 11 July 2018 Share close Share page Copy link About sharing India feels like it is going through an upsurge of sexual violence against children, with reports dominating the news week after week and prompting public anger. There have also been changes to the legal definition of rape and a new requirement that makes it mandatory for the police to record complaints of sexual assault. The current debate was sparked in part by the rape and murder of an eight-year-old girl … [Read more...] about Child sex crime: Does India have a growing problem?
