Here are the states seeing high vasectomy consultations since abortion ban
The U.S. Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade almost a week ago, ending nearly 50 years of a landmark decision that gave women the federal right to have abortions. Now it is up to states to decide whether to ban or restrict abortions. The Supreme Court decision prompted mass protests nationwide on Friday as abortion bans rolled out across the country, affecting pregnant women seeking the procedure. Meanwhile, some states have announced plans to become abortion sanctuaries, welcoming abortion seekers from states with so-called "trigger laws." There are 13 states with trigger laws that makes abortion illegal or restricted because of pre- Roe provisions in their statute books. Uvalde city officials were confronted by families angry over the delayed disclosure of information on the elementary school mass shooting that took place late last month. Rep. Liz Cheney (R-WY) refused to rule out a run for the White House in 2024 on Sunday, saying she still hasn’t made a decision. Cheney made the comments during a Sunday interview on ABC News’ “This Week” with Jonathan Karl regarding the January 6 hearings. “I’ll make a decision about ’24 down the road,” Cheney said . “I think about it less in terms of a decision about running for office, and more in terms of, you know, as an American – and as somebody who’s in a position of public trust now, how do I make sure that I’m doing everything I can to do the right thing; to do what I know is right for the country, and, and to protect our Constitution,” she added. It’s not the first time Cheney has hinted at running for the Oval Office. In May 2021, the congresswoman pushed back after being removed from her role as chair of the House Republican Congress. “The party is going to come back stronger, and I’m going to lead the effort to do it,” Cheney responded at the time. Dem Strategists Repeat Lie About DeSantis. Even The Media Condemns Them. | The Daily Wire
After two Democratic activists repeated lies on Tuesday about Governor Ron DeSantis (R-FL) in tweets that were widely retweeted, even members of the media condemned the false claims. The claims, that DeSantis was forcing students and teachers to “register their political views with the state” or “identify their political affiliation to Florida’s GOP state legislatures,” had first been debunked last year after The Washington Post and The Hill made similar claims. The Hill wrote, “Florida Gov signs law requiring students, faculty be asked to declare their political beliefs.” The Post claimed, “In push against ‘indoctrination,’ DeSantis mandates surveys of Florida students’ beliefs.” On Tuesday, Democrat Jon Cooper, whose Twitter profile reads “Former National Finance Chair of Draft Biden 2016, Long Island Campaign Chair for @BarackObama & Majority Leader of Suffolk County Legislature, NY,” linked to a 2021 story in Salon titled, “DeSantis signs bill requiring Florida … [Read more...] about Dem Strategists Repeat Lie About DeSantis.
