A former top civil servant at the Home Office has settled his employment tribunal claim against the government. Sir Philip Rutnam resigned from his role as the department's permanent secretary last year, amid bullying allegations against Priti Patel . Announcing his departure, Sir Philip accused the home secretary of a "vicious and orchestrated briefing campaign" against him. Brandon Anderson, who helps professional cleaners find clients, recently showed off a video of someone doing just this to a filthy carpet. However, viewers who saw the clip on TikTok were horrified - as they initially just assumed that the carpet was a chic dark grey colour. But as the expert went at the fabric with a steam cleaner, the carpet can be seen to completely transform back to its original shade. And it wasn't meant to be grey at all - it was in fact beige. A SEVEN-year-old girl has died days after a house fire that killed married couple and their four-year-old daughter. Little Iviee-May Hall died in Bristol's Childrens' Hospital last week where she had been in a critical condition. Married couple Daniel Rudge, 29, and Kaylie Rudge, 28, also died in the fire at their home in Clayton Road, Exeter, on February 21 . Their four-year-old twin daughter Lillie-Rose Rudge died the same day after being taken to the Royal Devon and Exeter hospital. Devon's senior coroner Philip Spinney opened inquests into all four deaths today. Mr Spinney said the causes are yet to be established and further investigations are pending. He adjourned the inquests for "further inquiries to be made" including the preparation of a full fire investigation report into how the blaze started. A police reform bill in honour of George Floyd that will ban chokeholds and "qualified immunity" for law enforcement officials has been passed by the US House of Representatives. The George Floyd Justice in Policing Act would also ban no-knock warrants, mandate data collection on police encounters, prohibit racial and religious profiling and redirect funding to community-based policing programs. The 220-212 vote comes nine months after Mr Floyd , a black man, died when a police officer in Minneapolis pressed a knee on his neck for several minutes. As he died, Mr Floyd was repeatedly heard to say: "I can't breathe." His death in May 2020 prompted massive protests across the US and around the world calling for an end to racial injustice and police brutality.
