My 3-year-old got head stuck in a toilet seat – it took 3 people to remove it

May 26, 2022 by www.dailystar.co.uk

A mother has described how her three-year-old daughter managed to get her head stuck in a toilet seat before a trip to hospital, where it took three people to get it off. Amy Sanderson had to rush Ivy-Anne Bingham to A&E after she tried to use her pink plastic seat alone but re-merged with it around her neck. The tot is currently potty training and took herself off to the bathroom while her mum was preparing dinner at their home in Plymouth, Devon. At first glance, Amy said she thought the seat would simply slip off and tried to wiggle her daughter free, reports Plymouth Live. But when that failed, they had to make a trip to Derriford Hospital where doctors took just over an hour to remove it. Amy, a health care worker for Blue Bird Care, described Ivy as a funny and strong-willed little girl who is always making her family laugh. "My initial reaction when I saw her with the toilet seat on her head was 'that's alright I will get it back off.' "But after … [Read more...] about My 3-year-old got head stuck in a toilet seat – it took 3 people to remove it

The Wednesday letters page celebrates 50 years of the modern games industry, as another reader hopes for more Lego Star Wars DLC. To join in with the discussions yourself email [email protected] Time and money live in Asia the general lack of games is very disappointing, as is the apparent lack of care over the versions they’re using. The thing that immediately struck me is that it all seems very rushed. I don’t know how, considering Sony has had years to plan this and there’s nothing technically complicated about any of it, but I can only assume that the whole thing has been underfunded for some reason. That’s probably another reason why Sony hasn’t talked about it much pre-launch but it also underlines just how rich Microsoft is as a company and how it can make very time consuming things seem simple and straightforward. I’m still surprised Sony has sleepwalked into such obvious problems though. Why talk about hundreds of games and then not deliver? Why make … [Read more...] about Games Inbox: PS Plus Premium disaster, Battlefield Portal suggestions, and PSVR recommendations

May 26, 2022 by www.independent.co.uk

Rhys McClenaghan has been barred from defending his gymnastics title at the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham in a shock ruling by the sport’s international ruling body. The 22-year-old and two Northern Ireland team-mates have been told they are ineligible to compete in the event later this year because they routinely represent Ireland in worldwide Federation Internationale de Gymnastique (FIG) competitions. McClenaghan, who pipped Max Whitlock to pommel gold on the Gold Coast four years ago, said on social media: “Earlier today I was informed that the [FIG] will not be allowing myself and my team mates to compete at the Commonwealth Games for Northern Ireland. “I was born in Northern Ireland, my residence is in Northern Ireland and I represented and won Gold for Northern Ireland in the last Commonwealth Games. “I feel that FIG do not understand the gravity of the Belfast Agreement and the unique situation pertaining to Northern Ireland. ‘He could play for anyone’ – Man Utd legend Gary Neville tells Liverpool to snap-up ‘out of this world’ free transfer

May 26, 2022 by www.thesun.co.uk

GARY NEVILLE has urged Liverpool to snap-up one particular “out of this world” free agent this summer. Jurgen Klopp’s side are preparing to face Real Madrid in the Champions League final after narrowly missing out on the Premier League title to Manchester City. Despite their season still being alive the Reds have already been active in the transfer market. Liverpool have confirmed the signing of Fabio Carvalho from Fulham on a deal until 2027. The Reds missed out on the 19-year-old's signature in the winter transfer window after failing to complete the paperwork before the deadline . But the Merseyside outfit remained desperate to snap up the Portugal and England youth international and managed to agree a deal to sign him in April which is believed to be worth £5million with a potential £3m more in add-ons. May 26, 2022 by www.thesun.co.uk

CHELSEA have been dealt a transfer blow as Barcelona ace Ousmane Dembele is set to join Paris Saint-Germain, reports suggest. That is according to AS , who report that Dembele rejected Barca's new contract offer and decided to leave the Nou Camp in June when his deal expires. The forward has been linked with the Blues, who are looking to add some firepower up front after Todd Boehly's takeover is officially completed. However, the 25-year-old looks set to return to France for PSG ahead of the summer transfer window. January 29, 2020 by www.euronews.com

A two Michelin star chef who has lived in the UK for 23-years has had his request for permanent residency rejected. Claude Bosi, who is originally from Lyon, told Euronews: "They make you feel like they don’t want you to be here." "The issue is not about what you can bring to the table, it’s about the work you’re going to do to... It's a p***take." In more than two decades in the UK, the 47-year-old has run a string of high-profile restaurants, including Hibiscus, which was awarded two Michelin stars. It closed in 2016. He now runs Bibendum in London's affluent borough of Kensington and Chelsea. On Friday, the chef posted his rejection letter from the Home Office to his 28,000 followers on Instagram. "I love Britain," he wrote. "I considered until today like home but they just told me after 23 years of tax paid/Vat paid I'm not welcome-anymore."
