The law that lets Europeans take back their data from big tech companies
Editor's Note: On Monday, January 21, Europe issued its first major fine against a U.S. tech company for violating the General Data Protection Regulation. The French data protection commission fined Google 50 million euros ($57 million) for failing to inform users how it collects data for personalized ads. It's part of the site where records by the Beatles, the Rolling Stones and Pink Floyd were pressed. Kevin shares the three-storey building with 30 others. What was once an historic work space is now a living space, with each resident having their own individual room to sleep in. Some enjoy their own showers, while … [Read more...] about Property guardians move with the times to save cash

At the age of 12, Myles, who grew up in Leith, was told he had developed hepatitis. Now 50, he is one of about 4,000 people who will receive compensation as a victim of the blood scandal which saw thousands of people contract HIV or hepatitis C in the 1970s and 1980s through NHS treatments. Patients with haemophilia and other bleeding disorders were unaware that the Factor VIII blood clotting products they were given were contaminated. Some died after developing AIDS and others developed serious chronic conditions.
