CORONATION Street legend Eileen Derbyshire’s husband of 56 years has died after a long battle with Alzheimer's, her son has revealed. The 89-year-old star 's husband Thomas W. Holt sadly passed away last weekend with the couple's only son, Oliver Holt, by his bedside. Eileen – who has played Emily Bishop for 58 years – had been with the retired engineer since they met in early 1964, and the couple resided in a large cottage in Cheshire. Their son Oliver, who is a sports journalist, revealed his father's death as he wrote about their shared love of football in his column for Mail Online. COVID vaccines will be available from GP surgeries from today - as the race to protect Brits from the virus is ramped up. The Oxford/AstraZeneca jab can be stored at fridge temperatures making it easier to administer, unlike the Pfizer jab which requires storage at -70C. It's hoped more than 700 GP surgeries will be delivering vaccines by the end of the week - after the UK recorded the highest daily death toll since April. The UK reported a further 1,041 people had died within 28 days of testing positive for Covid-19 as of Wednesday. Record numbers are also currently in hospital with coronavirus, with a further 3,500 admitted in England on Monday. Some 1.3 million people have already received either the Pfizer/BioNTech or Oxford/AstraZeneca jab. Lee Ann, from Philadelphia, brought shame upon her family when she married non-traveller Joe and is now trying to get back in their good books with daughter Mary.
