The data site Zoosk reports that in 2014, the Sunday after New Year's was when the most people signed up to give online dating a spin. The Washington Post reports that the window for when the highest number of singles sign up for online dating and look around for potential matches stretches to after work on Monday, January 4, with 5 to 8 p.m. as the peak time to sign up. … [Read more...] about ‘Dating Sunday,’ Year’s Biggest Online Dating Day, Is Upon Us

Northern Ireland: Two U-turns in one day by the party ‘not for turning’
The party once led by a lady "not for turning" seems to have had a change of heart. Twice in one day, the UK government has U-turned on agreements related to Northern Ireland . Foreign Secretary Liz Truss told the Commons the Northern Ireland Protocol "does not have the support necessary in one community…" The Unionist community never supported a Brexit border in the Irish Sea but that did not stop the government agreeing to one. It is, in the words of the Belfast Telegraph's Northern Ireland Editor Sam McBride: "…a huge ideological U-turn." Advertisement But amid the furore over the UK government's threat to override elements of the treaty it signed with the EU , another U-turn went almost unnoticed. In 2020, the government pledged to introduce a statute of limitations on historical prosecutions in Northern Ireland. We’re FURIOUS after cops installed a ‘cash cow’ 20mph speed camera down hill… it’s already caught 1,000 drivers in a day
FURIOUS drivers have slammed a region's first 20mph speed camera as a 'cash cow' on a 'rat run' - after OVER 1,000 were caught on its first day. The speed camera was launched for the first time this week on Old Laira Road in Plymouth, and at 20mph is the slowest speed detector in the entire Devon and Cornwall police force area. Before its introduction this week, the camera had an eight week testing period that saw a whopping 23,500 road users caught - including over 1,000 in its first day. Although those drivers avoided prosecution during the test period, the 140 people snapped on the camera's first official day weren't so lucky. Carl White, a café owner whose restaurant is near Old Laira Road, told The Sun Online: “It is an absolute nightmare, the limit is dangerously slow." And he added it was "absolutely" a cash cow - adding: “I think they are doing all they can to rob people.” Most read in UK News HEATING UP Heatwave roasts Britain on … [Read more...] about We’re FURIOUS after cops installed a ‘cash cow’ 20mph speed camera down hill… it’s already caught 1,000 drivers in a day

Days Gone developer Sony Bend working on new game but it’s not a sequel
The chances of there ever being a Days Gone 2 have taken another knock, as developer Sony Bend confirms they’re working on a new project. Sony has repeatedly boasted that it has over 25 first party games currently in development , many of them still unannounced but almost half of them brand new IP (intellectual property, i.e. not a sequel, spin-off or licence). Two of those unknown games have now been identified by the developer involved, with one of them being a new title by Astro’s Playroom maker Team Asobi and the other a new IP from Days Gone creator Sony Bend. The fact that Sony Bend are working on a new game, and not a sequel to Days Gone 2, was leaked back in April , with fans reacting angrily to the news and starting a petition that attracted over 100,000 signatures . Even the rumours gave no clue as to what the new project was, but according to PlayStation Studios boss Hermen Hulst, ‘They’re building on the deep open-world systems that they developed … [Read more...] about Days Gone developer Sony Bend working on new game but it’s not a sequel
