Jurors were shown dashcam footage from the moment a pensioner's car turned into the path of a van, which led to the death of a baby and caused a mother serious injuries. Shelagh Robertson, the pensioner accused of causing the crash that killed five-month-old Louis Thorold and causing his mother, Rachael Thorold, serious injuries, was suffering from undiagnosed dementia, Cambridge Crown Court heard. The court was told the 75-year-old was driving home from a shopping trip to Tesco when she turned into the path of the oncoming van on the A10 at Waterbeach in Cambridgeshire, forcing it on to the pavement. Mrs Thorold and her husband Chris left the courtroom as around 15 seconds of footage from the van's dashcam was shown on Monday. The clip stops before the moment of impact. A 14-year-old boy has died after getting into difficulty in a lake in Cheshunt last night, Hertfordshire Police has said. Officers were called to North Met Lake at 5pm to reports the boy had not resurfaced after being in the water. The force said a police helicopter and specialist police divers carried out searches of the area. The boy's body was discovered just before 11pm. "Officers, the Fire and Rescue Service and the East of England Ambulance Service immediately attended the lake," Hertfordshire Police said in a statement. Caroline Bagshaw said a "horrible" dead adult spider and about 10 live babies fell out of the fruit in her kitchen. Geoff Grewcock, of Nuneaton and Warwickshire Wildlife Sanctuary , thought they were Brazilian Wandering Spiders whose "bite could kill you". Lidl told the BBC it was investigating and would compensate Ms Bagshaw for the cost of fumigating her home. A 16-year-old boy was shot multiple times inside a vehicle in St. Martinville early Tuesday. St. Martinville Police Department officers were on patrol when they heard gunshots around midnight Tuesday. Officers located a vehicle on Journet Drive off S. Martin Luther King Jr. Drive that had multiple bullet holes and found a 16-year-old boy suffering from three gunshot wounds, St. Martinville Police Chief Ricky Martin said. Officers administered CPR until an ambulance arrived and the boy was transported to an area hospital. Martin said around noon Tuesday that his condition is unknown but the injuries were serious. Surveillance footage is being collected from a nearby school, businesses and residences.
