If you think you've got the X Factor, your chance is coming to prove it! Those who think they have what it takes can head down to the Arts Block Theatre at the Grimsby Institute, Nuns Corner, on Sunday, April 22 to audition for the hit ITV show. Entrants will be able to showcase their talent from 10am until 4pm. If you are in full-time education, the auditions will be held after 4.30pm. The auditions mark a collaboration between The X Factor and AFO Choirs UK, an open-for-all choir which performs in association with local and national charities. AFO Choirs was founded by the Britain’s Got Talent semi-finalist Helen Garnett. The Grimsby area has seen success in the X Factor before with Tetney's Ella Henderson reaching the latter stages of the competition in 2012 before landing a record deal which saw her single Ghost shoot to the top of the charts. X Factor talent scouts will be on the look out for singing talent in Middlesbrough next month. The UK’s biggest talent show is back and on the lookout for the next James Arthur or Amelia Lily. The ITV show’s audition team are back out on the road, scouring the country for budding hopefuls to take part in series 15 of the hit music show. They will head to two locations in Middlesbrough on April 11. Scouts will be at Teesside University’s Student Union, on Southfield Road, from 11am to 5pm. They’ll then move over to Bar Zero, on Linthorpe Road, central Middlesbrough , between 6.30pm and 10pm. Open days are being held at the Metrocentre in Gateshead, in the lower Blue Mall, on Saturday April 7 between 10am and 6pm then on Sunday April 8 between 11am and 5pm. Louis Tomlinson has paid tribute to his late mother as he marked eight years since his first audition for The X Factor. The One Direction star's mother Johannah Deakin died in December 2016 at the age of 43 after a long battle with leukaemia. Tomlinson, 26, wrote on Twitter: "8 years today I went for my first audition on the X factor. Thanks you to my beautiful mum for talking me into going! Thank you to each and every person who's ever supported!" It was during the X Factor auditions that Tomlinson was teamed with Harry Styles, Liam Payne, Niall Horan and Zayn Malik to form One Direction. The band are currently on an extended hiatus while they pursue solo careers after the departure of Malik from the line-up. It’s most recent crop of acts have recently played to thousands of people in Newcastle and if you fancy a bit of that The X Factor has started its search for 2018 contestants and is bringing it to the North East with a huge open audition at the Metrocentre. We’re not ones to brag, but the region has a rather good track record on the hit ITV talent show with three winners - Joe McElderry in 2009, Little Mix in 2011 and then James Arthur a year later. In 2014 ‘singing fishmonger’ Lola Saunders reached the latter stages of the competition and most recently, County Durham singer Sam Lavery reached the live shows in 2016. The audition tour called in at Trinity Square in Gateshead last year and it will be back on both sides of the Tyne next month for open auditions and open mic nights. It was the track that struck a chord with The X Factor judges and millions of people across the globe last summer and Aidan Martin will release his very personal track Punchline as a single on Friday. Cleadon singer Aidan sent goosebumps through the nation and reduced Sharon Osborne and Nicole Scherzinger to tears when he performed the self-penned song in his audition for the hit ITV talent show and it’s gone on to amass millions of views online. Now the 27 year old is hoping that a beefed up version of Punchline will hit the right note with music fans when he launches it on digital platforms for people to download and stream.
