I’m a Target Superfan – I’ve worked out the exact time of the day it’s best to shop in-store and it has 3 huge benefits

May 26, 2022 by www.thesun.co.uk

A TARGET superfan has revealed the exact time it's best to shop in-store and the three huge benefits that come along with it. QuerySprout founder Marques Thomas opened up on his consumer help website about a major tip on how to find discount deals and have the most pleasant experience at the popular busy retail chain. The Target superfan suggests the ideal time to shop at the big-box department store chain is between the early hours of 8am and 10 am from Monday to Friday. Shopping during that two-hour time frame allows Target-goers to avoid crowds, get access to new clearance deals, and have more products to choose from as stock availability is at its prime, according to the consumer advocate. Fewer crowds The quietest time to spend time in Target is during the recommended two-hour time slot, between 8am and 10am, QuerySprout explains. Additionally, shopping after 8pm is also ideal for anyone looking to walk around a less busy store. May 26, 2022 by www.hellomagazine.com

May 26, 2022 - 15:57 BST From Zimmerman to LemLem: add the latest summer fashion trend to your holiday wardrobe Shopping for swimwear can be a bit of a minefield . There are thousands of different styles to choose from, and an endless list of essentials. It's seriously difficult to find that one all-encompassing poolside piece that will be flattering, stylish and comfortable in one fell swoop. Enter: belted swimwear. If the last few years of Love Island are anything to go by, tiny thong-style bikinis have reigned supreme, but it seems that for summer 2022, many top designers are leaning in favour of more retro shapes. Chanel SS22 runway show In particular, we absolutely love Chanel's monochrome belted swimsuit, which debuted at their SS22 show. It might feel a little bit retro, but we predict that swimsuits will be huge this year. The incriminating new images of Boris Johnson that could put the fizz back into partygate

May 23, 2022 by www.telegraph.co.uk

Boris Johnson raises a glass of wine and toasts the departure of his director of communications. The glass of fizz (possibly champagne) is gripped in his right hand, a smile on the Prime Minister’s face as he and at least seven members of his Downing Street press team say their farewells to Lee Cain, his departing official spokesman who had fallen out with Mr Johnson’s young fiancee Carrie Symonds (now his wife). Yet eight days before this incriminating photograph was taken on November 13 2020, the Prime Minister had plunged England into a second national lockdown. Pubs were shut, travel banned and socialising indoors or even in back gardens prohibited. On the table in the photograph’s foreground appears prima facie evidence of what could only best be described as a party. There are two bottles of bubbly, four bottles of wine (two red and two white) and half a bottle of gin. Most of the booze has been drunk bar one bottle of unopened fizz, visible at the very edge of the picture. … [Read more...] about The incriminating new images of Boris Johnson that could put the fizz back into partygate

Boris Johnson revives hopes for Heathrow’s third runway

May 26, 2022 by www.telegraph.co.uk

Boris Johnson has opened the door for Heathrow to build its third runway as ministers commit to support necessary airport expansion. Mr Johnson once pledged to “lie down in front of the bulldozers” to prevent construction going ahead. missed a Commons vote on Heathrow’s expansion in 2018 that rubber-stamped the project. Last year Robert Jenrick, the then housing secretary, backed London Mayor Sadiq Khan ’s building plan for the capital that opposed expansion at Heathrow airport. Taking aviation back to the skies By Robert Courts MP, aviation minister For over 100 years, aviation has been at the very centre of British life, from the famous military aircraft which helped us win two world wars, to commercial flight connecting us with the rest of the world. Today, we are explaining how this vital industry will move into the future; a future which is greener, but a future that is one of flying nonetheless With every take-off, every world leading airport or … [Read more...] about Boris Johnson revives hopes for Heathrow’s third runway

Inflation crisis will give tech titans even more power

May 26, 2022 by www.telegraph.co.uk

Technology companies are living through a market rout not seen since the embers of the dotcom crash. The Nasdaq has fallen for seven consecutive weeks, the longest losing streak since 2002, and is down 30pc this year. Investment bankers who were busier than ever this time last year during the Spac frenzy are twiddling their thumbs. Bitcoin, once marketed as a hedge against inflation, has crashed too. Elon Musk’s $44bn (£35bn) agreement to buy Twitter a month ago is looking more ill-timed by the day . The superstars at the World Economic Forum in Davos this week are not youthful internet entrepreneurs but nonagenarian diplomats and financiers. A combination of a global inflationary crisis and the subsequent rise in interest rates has been a sharp rejoinder to any tech worker under the age of 35, who has only ever experienced their employers becoming richer and more powerful. Such an environment is starting to take its toll on most. This week, Snapchat’s parent company warned … [Read more...] about Inflation crisis will give tech titans even more power

Letters: An automated voice is no comfort to a widow faced with soaring gas bills

May 6, 2022 by www.telegraph.co.uk

SIR – My wife and I have a friend who is a widow in her 80s. Recently we found her in a distressed state. She said that her gas bill, normally about £30 per month, had gone up to £170. She does not bank online and her bank has recently closed its branch in the nearest town four miles away. She tried phoning her supplier, British Gas, only to be told by an automated voice on each attempt that the wait time was “more than an hour”. So distressed has she become that she has had to visit her GP, who suggested that she was suffering from anxiety brought on by the situation with her gas supply. She is now taking anti-anxiety medicine and has managed to get her bill altered. I can only say that this is a disgraceful way to deal with any customer. David J Hartshorn SIR – Gillian Courage (Letters, May 5) writes of her energy supplier’s grab for more money. The same applies to our long-term supplier, Ovo Energy. On Wednesday we received two emails, one complaining about a lack of … [Read more...] about Letters: An automated voice is no comfort to a widow faced with soaring gas bills

Royal request could bring heat pumps to London’s historic buildings

May 24, 2022 by www.telegraph.co.uk

The Queen's property empire and the Duke of Westminster are lobbying for an overhaul of listed building rules that would allow them to install heat pumps in swathes of historic properties across London. The Crown Estate and the Duke’s property business Grosvenor Group are pushing for new regulations so it is easier to make green energy upgrades to premises with protected status. As well as the pumps - an alternative to gas boilers which use electricity to draw heat from the ground or air - reform would also pave the way for the installation of double glazing and insulation. At present, these upgrades require listed building consent, which can take eight weeks to complete using a process that varies hugely between different councils and can cost thousands of pounds in consultancy fees. Grosvenor and the Crown Estate own swathes of London around St James, Soho and Regent Street. If existing rules are overhauled, then they will be able to make changes that will affect the … [Read more...] about Royal request could bring heat pumps to London’s historic buildings
