The audio experts at EPOS have proven time and time again that they make some of the best headsets for both work and play. Having once been partnered with Sennheiser, EPOS has more than proved its expertise with top-notch specialised gaming headsets. EPOS H3 . However, it looks like they weren’t finished with this already impressive headset as they have tinkered further to create a wireless version with the EPOS H3 Hybrid and now their latest edition The EPOS H3Pro Hybrid . The H3Pro Hybrid looks great and has no garish colours, lighting or logos plastered all over it. ( Image: EPOS) The H3 Pro Hybrid looks almost identical to its previous iterations. The headset while still carrying the obligatory chunkiness, it doesn’t feel bulky or too large. The earcups and the headband are matte black and the H3 has very little distracting branding and logos, keeping a smart yet attractive in a low key kind of way. Built of plastic and metal the H3Pro looks great but … [Read more...] about EPOS H3Pro Hybrid Review: Incredible immersion into your favourite games with the addition of noise-cancelling and wireless

Evil Dead: The Game review – groovy multiplayer
80s shlock horror is reinterpreted as a 4 vs. 1 multiplayer, where you get to play as Ash or the Deadites – but which is more fun? There was a moment, around seven years ago, when asymmetric multiplayer looked like it was going to be the next big thing. It wasn’t, but whether that was because the concept was intrinsically flawed or it just didn’t have a catchy enough name was difficult to say at first. Exemplified by the ill-fated Evolve , the idea was that four people play a relatively normal co-op game while a fifth joins in as the enemy force, usually involving a central boss type character plus lesser minions and traps. When none of the initial games became hits, it seemed like it was going to become the shortest-lived genre ever, until developers discovered the necessary secret sauce: horror. Dead By Daylight paved the way, before several others began to use old 80s horror movies as their setting, starting with Friday The 13th and now including Predator and the … [Read more...] about Evil Dead: The Game review – groovy multiplayer
Ghostbusters is the latest 80s movie to get a 4 vs. 1 video game adaptation
A new Ghostbusters game is on the way and it’s by the same team that made the asymmetric multiplayer Predator and Friday The 13th tie-ins. First it was Friday The 13th, then Predator, then Texas Chainsaw Massacre (technically that’s a 70s film), and now it’s the turn of Ghostbusters to be turned into an asymmetric multiplayer game. All but Texas Chainsaw Massacre are made by American developer Illfonic (who accidentally leaked news of the game last year), so it’s not hard to imagine how Ghostbusters: Spirits Unleashed is going to work. There shouldn’t be any worry that the game will be 100% accurate to the original movies either. As you’d expect, four players are cast as Ghostbusters while the fifth plays as a ghost, with options including Slimer but not the Stay-Puft Marshmallow Man (who technically isn’t a ghost anyway). The game features both Winston and Ray in supporting roles, with Ernie Hudson and Dan Aykroyd providing the voiceovers. The characters you play … [Read more...] about Ghostbusters is the latest 80s movie to get a 4 vs. 1 video game adaptation
Friday The 13th: The Game review – campy fun
One of the icons of ‘80s horror has now got his own multiplayer video game, but does it have the longevity of the film series? Evil Dead: The Game review - groovy multiplayer We love seeing an expert getting excited about their favourite subject. Whether it’s a highly skilled chef, an impassioned music expert, or a developer with a love for rubbish ‘80s horror flicks, we find their enthusiasm infectious no matter the topic. The makers of this game clearly love Friday The 13th with a passion, and they’re right in thinking that it does have a lot of potential for being made into a video game. We just wish they’d actually finished it before releasing it. We’ve seen a few Friday The 13th films over the years, but except for the one in space we couldn’t begin to tell you what ones they were – which we assume is probably true for most non-fans. But not the makers of this game. Developer IllFonic and publisher Gun Media clearly have an encyclopaedic knowledge of all things … [Read more...] about Friday The 13th: The Game review – campy fun
Games Inbox: PS Plus Premium disappointment, Silent Hill 2 praise, and EA Sports FC predictions
The Tuesday letters page is confused as to how Sony is handling the PS Plus reveals, as a reader hopes a XCOM 3 announcement is imminent. To join in with the discussions yourself email [email protected] Reasonable questions PS Plus announcement from Sony is… kind of bad? Why wouldn’t they announce all the games at the same time? Why is all this being done via low effort blog posts? Why are the PS Plus Premium games so especially bad? How do you start a major new retro service and not have a single PlayStation 2 game? You know, games from the most successful home console ever made? As you can see, I have many questions about the new PS Plus and Sony’s bizarre way of promoting it. I know they weren’t keen on it being compared to Game Pass but, believe me, nobody is doing that right now, because it’s obvious that Microsoft’s take on the same idea is a whole letter better. This just all seems very random and badly organised, like someone’s homework rushed … [Read more...] about Games Inbox: PS Plus Premium disappointment, Silent Hill 2 praise, and EA Sports FC predictions
Sykkuno moves from Twitch to YouTube Gaming – five more big streamers to follow
Twitch has lost another major star to rival YouTube Gaming, who apparently paid an ‘absolutely ridiculous’ sum to get him. Unlike some veteran streamers, Sykkuno has only been on Twitch since 2020 but quickly rose to fame during lockdown and now, just as quickly, he’s abandoning Twitch in order to be exclusive to YouTube Gaming. There had already been rumours that Sykkuno – who has not publicly revealed his real name – would join his friend Valkyrae on YouTube, but in the end it wasn’t the controversial Twitch partner program changes that caused him to leave but instead the ‘ridiculous’ amount of money he was apparently offered. Sykkuno hasn’t talked about exactly why he left yet but friend KristoferYee claims the money YouTube offered was ‘f***ing insane’ and ‘absolutely ridiculous’. There’s been a steady stream of top Twitch talent leaving in recent months, a trend started by Dr DisRespect and which has since included the likes of DrLupo, TimTheTatman, and … [Read more...] about Sykkuno moves from Twitch to YouTube Gaming – five more big streamers to follow
Now PlayStation is rumoured to be adding in-game ads to free-to-play titles
Both Sony and Microsoft are believed to be working on new in-game ad schemes and the one for PlayStation consoles may be out this year. Just days after rumours emerged that Microsoft is planning a new in-game ad system it’s been suggested that Sony is attempting exactly the same thing. Rather than simply being a way to make more money from free games, the reason for the new system is apparently to encourage developers to make more free-to-play titles. The idea is that if ads become a thing, then making free games will be even more profitable; after Sony (and presumably Microsoft) saw a major increase in the use of free-to-play games during the pandemic. With families around the world tightening their belts, that frugalness is likely to continue and Sony is apparently to keen to make sure there’s a steady supply of new titles. Currently the aim is not for anything particularly intrusive, since the move is likely to be unpopular with gamers, and so the ads will be … [Read more...] about Now PlayStation is rumoured to be adding in-game ads to free-to-play titles
Microsoft wants ads in Xbox games but only free-to-play ones
Advertisements could start popping up in select Xbox games, but Microsoft is apparently wary of irritating players. Remember when both EA and 2K Games put advertisements in their UFC 4 and NBA 2K21 games, respectively, and got a lot of flak for it? Well, it sounds like Microsoft is planning on doing the same thing. Although the company itself has not confirmed any such plans, anonymous sources claim it’s working on an ad system for specific Xbox games. Furthermore, the company aims to have it up and running by the third quarter of this year, so somewhere between July and September. Unlike the EA and 2K examples, however, these ads will only appear in free-to-play games and will take the form of things like billboards. As opposed to the kind of pop-up ads you see in mobile games. These decisions seem to indicate that Microsoft is aware that such a scheme would be received negatively by players and is taking steps to avoid any backlash. Microsoft apparently … [Read more...] about Microsoft wants ads in Xbox games but only free-to-play ones
Europa League final: Thousands of Rangers fans in Seville for ‘biggest game of our lives’ against Eintracht Frankfurt
Thousands of Rangers fans have arrived in Seville ahead of what they are calling the "biggest game of our lives" when they meet Eintracht Frankfurt in tonight's Europa League final. The Glasgow club are the first Scottish team to reach the final of a major European competition since Walter Smith's Rangers side lost 2-0 in the UEFA Cup showpiece in 2008. The Europa League final will come just over a decade after Rangers entered administration, resulting in the club dropping down to the third division in Scottish football. Around 100,000 Rangers fans are expected in Spain for the final. The Estadio Ramón Sánchez-Pizjuán ground, which will host the final, holds around 40,000 fans - so another stadium will be opened in the city to allow people without tickets to watch the game on big screens. Advertisement Rangers fans in Seville told Sky News' sports correspondent Tom Parmenter that there was a "carnival atmosphere" before what would be the "biggest game … [Read more...] about Europa League final: Thousands of Rangers fans in Seville for ‘biggest game of our lives’ against Eintracht Frankfurt
MotorGP 22 review: An immersive racing simulator with fantastic customisation
Developer Milestone is back with another racing simulator, this time around it's the long-running MotoGP series which returns with the latest entry MotoGP 22. MotoGP 22 is simply stunning with each of the bikes looking like spitting images of their real-life counterparts. Character models in races have realistic reactions during crashes and other pivotal moments in sustaining real time wear and tear. Outside of races the character models can be less emotive and are slightly static. The tracks have also been given a boost with much better life-like weather conditions, from water sprays when raining to miniature dust clouds on the grittier tracks. The real-time lighting really shines when sunlight beams off the bikes and helmets. MotoGP 22 is a visual spectacle that really captures the physical essence of MotoGP, it's like watching a real race. MotoGP 22 is the latest entry in the MotoGP series ( Image: Milestone) The Character creator also has quite a few … [Read more...] about MotorGP 22 review: An immersive racing simulator with fantastic customisation
