DON'T stick your head in the sand: this week Papa John's has launched a pizza topped with OSTRICH meat - but you'll have to be quick if you want one. In its very own bushtucker trial, the pizza delivery chain is giving its customers the chance to try the exotic meat for £10.99. Papa John's BBQ Ostrich Pizza has a barbecue base and is topped with ostrich meat "crumble" as well as mozzarella, red onions, red and green peppers, and herbs and spices. It's been launched to celebrate the start of I'm A Celebrity, Get Me Out Of Here! which begins this Sunday on ITV. The pizzas are available to buy now but they're only around until stocks last - so when it's gone, it's gone. Papa John's currently has an offer on that lets hungry customers buy any large pizza for £10.99 so the exotic pizza won't cost more than any other flavour. Ostrich meat is said to taste more like beef or venison than other birds such as chicken or turkey because of its size. But unlike beef, the meat is said to … [Read more...] about Papa John’s launches a pizza topped with OSTRICH – so would you try it?

BOFFINS have revealed the secret to bagging the best yellow sticker discounts at supermarkets. University researchers have published a report on the best tactics, times and strategies that top money savers use to pick up heavily reduced items from shelves. They found shoppers who get the best bargains: "Wait around" in the aisles for reductions - One shopper revealed they check the expiry dates of items such as cream cakes and then wait for a staff member to reach them with the yellow-sticker gun so they can grab them straight from the reduction trolley. Are competitive - One shopper told the researchers that she loitered by a supermarket worker printing off yellow stickers for raspberries which were reduced from £3 to 25p each for a 150g punnet. She got there before another couple and managed to pick up 15 punnets, compared to the couple who only bagged four. Use trolleys as weapons - The report claims "shoppers are described as 'sharks' who use their 'trolleys as weapons' … [Read more...] about The secret to getting best yellow sticker discounts at supermarkets, according to science
IF the price of Halloween treats is giving you a fright, it might be time to look for ways to shed some of the costs. Shoppers are going to spend a scary £420million on the spooky season this year, up by 5 per cent from last year, according to the latest figure from Mintel. Sadly, sweets and chocolates are usually the most expensive part of the festivities. Chana Baram, retail analyst, said: “Confectionery is the biggest purchase for Halloween and even those who do not take part in the celebrations are likely to buy sweets or chocolates for any visiting trick-or-treaters.” Hannah Maundrell, the editor-in-chief of money.co.uk, is advising shoppers to set themselves a budget to avoid overspending. She told the Sun Online: "You should treat Halloween the same as you do Christmas and Birthday’s and set yourself a budget. "Every year there seems to be something new to buy for Halloween and it can become pretty pricey if you’re buying new decorations and … [Read more...] about Where to find the cheapest treats in time for Halloween including Lidl, Tesco and Morrisons
ASDA and Sainsbury's have slashed the cost of all of their Häagen-Dazs tubs to £2.50, giving shoppers a nice £1.50 discount. But the offer is only available for a limited amount of time - so you'll need to be quick to get your hands on the 460 ml tubs. Asda is offering the discount until October 31 both in stores and online, while Sainsbury's hasn't yet clarified either, so we'd advise you to visit your local supermarket as soon as you can. Asda sells flavour classics such as vanilla and Belgian chocolate to mouth-watering tubs tasting of cookies and cream, salted caramel, strawberry cheesecake as well as the new flavour of peanut butter crunch. Its product offering is better than Sainsbury's, which only sell three flavours including vanilla, Belgian chocolate, and cookies and cream - but the tubs are still available for the same price. The offers are the cheapest around at the moment, although Morrisons isn't far behind by always offering the tubs for only £3. … [Read more...] about Asda and Sainsbury’s are selling Häagen-Dazs tubs for £2.50
