A woman who struggled with her finances and said she was having ‘really rough times’ has turned her life around and now runs two businesses – bringing in a salary of £50,000.
Sharing her story anonymously, the 28-year-old woman from Glasgow, Scotland, said she hated her old job and she was at her wits’ end, until she met her current partner and they set up two successful businesses.
Together they run a marketing agency and an education company, bringing in a total of £200,000, but they only take half that as wages and split it between them, as Glasgow Live reports.
Despite bringing in £50,000 a year, the woman remembers her tough past and budgets her money each month – still putting some aside for a rainy day.

The woman spoke to Refinery 29 , as part of their Money Diaries series, where they look at how modern working women spend their earnings over a seven day period and ask them to track every penny.
She added: “We only started earning this amount of money around 18 months ago so it's fairly new to us and we're still finding our feet with investing/saving and enjoying ourselves too.”
The woman and her partner split bills 50/50 and add £6k to their joint account to cover bills, food shops and any extra spending.
Over seven days, she spent a total £776.05. One of those days, she spent a casual £512.98, including plane tickets to Seville, costing £140 with Ryanair.
She said: “I made a vow to myself years ago that no matter where I was flying to or for how long, I’d always pay for a suitcase.”

She also saves 10 per cent for her personal tax each month, and when they take their dividends they put around £5k each into their joint savings.
She then adds that she saves £1k of her own money for holidays, treats and wedding shoes.
In terms of pension, her company pays £500 per month into her and her fiancé’s pension pots.
She explains: “There is around £6,000 in mine but I don't currently contribute anything to my pension from my salary.”
Other costs include her phone bill at £51 and a weekly cleaner at £18 (split). Subscriptions: £29 MuscleFood, £63 gym memberships, £13.99 Spotify Duo, £20 Netflix and Now TV, £25 Nespresso (split). £20 personal Liberty subscription.
Growing up, she said her family never really spoke about money until it was a problem. She lived at home while she was at university and only took out the smallest student loan to cover travel.

She got her first job at 16 in a buffet and that was when she opened her first bank account, but admits she didn’t become fully financially responsible for herself until she moved in with her fiancé at 22.
Until then she paid for her car, going out and gave her mum £100 each month – although that was returned to her in a lump sum.
Thinking about money, she is relieved that for the first time, she isn’t worried about finances.
She continued: “For the first time in my life, no. We’re so lucky to be in the position that we are but it’s been a lot of hard work and risk-taking to get here.
“Just a few years ago I was working in the emergency services and B [her fiancé] was trying to make it as a copywriter. I was on a pretty low salary and covering all of our bills (we rented a flat at the time).
“We had some really rough times financially and although we never got into any serious debt it put a strain on our relationship.
“We are now in such a good place and I’m so grateful for every hour B has grafted to give us this life.
“He built an amazing business which allowed me to leave a job I hated and for us to grow this business (and our subsequent business) together. It sometimes feels like a dream.”
