For a good cause: Trisha Yearwood raised $24,000 in just 15 minutes for an animal charity on Monday in honor of the late comedy legend Betty White, who died late last month
‘I just think Betty right now is so happy that this is the way that the world is choosing to celebrate her birthday by giving to animals which was so near and dear to her heart,’ the She’s In Love With The Boy singer said.
It took just over 15 minutes for Yearwood to raise at least tens of thousands of dollars, with more donations still pouring in as her time on the platform ended.
In the video, Yearwood was joined by her two dogs, both rescues, who sat quietly beside the star.

Yearwood also provided an option for people who could not spare any money but could provide other services instead.
‘If you can’t donate money, everybody has a shelter,’ she said. ‘There’s a local shelter in your area or humane association. You can volunteer, you can drop off supplies.’
She named off old towels, dog beds, food or ‘anything else that you can come by.’
