Meghan Markle news latest – ‘Miserable’ Prince Harry’s California life ‘million miles from what he’d hoped’, expert says

January 17, 2022 by www.thesun.co.uk

A PR GURU has claimed Harry’s new life in the US is “a million miles from what he wanted” and that he looks “like a rabbit in the headlights”.

Richard Hillgrove, who has worked with figures such as Charles Saatchi & Julian Assange, commented to Express: "Unfortunately, Harry’s just like a rabbit in the headlights and caught up in it. He doesn’t look like a happy person at all. He looks jaded.

“The funny thing is, what he said in the ITV interview was that he’s withdrawing from Royal life, because he doesn’t want to be in the limelight. But then he's morphed into this creation in America, where's he's on the top of a bus, singing with James Corden. It's a million miles from what he professed that he wanted – he said he wanted a private life.”

"He thinks this system in America has got his best interests and everyone at home is has got it in for him,” Hillgrove added

Explained: Will the Queen turn off Andrew’s money tap?

It has been assumed that the Queen is advancing Andrew's legal bills from her income from the Duchy of Lancaster, Cawthorne says.

Set up the 14th century, the income from the duchy is given to the sovereign to conduct their official duties.

However, the biographer claims the Queen faces pressure from inside the family to turn off the money tap.

“It is hard to see how defending her son in a sex case in a foreign court is one of Her Majesty's official duties,” says Cawthorne.

“Prince Charles and Prince William are understood to be furious and think that Andrew should sort out his own mess.”

Should the royals distance themselves from financing Andrew altogether, Cawthorne says his ‘cratering’ bank balance could be pushed to the brink.

"The towering amounts involved raise the question whether the prince may go bankrupt without handouts from the Civil List or Privy Purse to prop up his teetering finances,” he adds.

“If the royal family won't help, he can always call a friend. Perhaps someone in Kazakhstan?"

Andrew would 'scream' if maids messed up his teddy bear’s

Former royal cop Paul Page tells presenter Ranvir Singh about the Duke's toys on Ghislaine and Prince Andrew.

Page — in the Royal Protection Command from 1998 to 2004 — used to have access to Prince Andrew's private apartment, where he claims he had a bed piled high with toys.

He said: "It had about 50 or 60 stuffed toys positioned on the bed and basically there was a card the inspector showed us in a drawer and it was a picture of these bears all in situ.

"The reason for the laminated picture was if those bears weren't put back in the right order by the maids, he would shout and scream."

Ghislaine , Prince Andrew and the Paedophile is on ITV on Tuesday at 9pm.

Harry insists UK is still his 'home' after Megxit

PRINCE Harry insists the UK is still his home – two years after ditching Blighty for the sunny Los Angeles hills.

Harry’s legal representative claims the Sussexes would love to visit the Royal Family in the UK – which the prince still very much deems “home” – but they are “unable to return” because it is too dangerous after they were stripped of round-the-clock police protection.

“The UK will always be Prince Harry’s home and a country he wants his wife and children to be safe in,” they said.

“But with the lack of police protection, comes too great a personal risk.”

They continued: “Prince Harry inherited a security risk at birth, for life.

“He remains sixth in line to the throne, served two tours of combat duty in Afghanistan, and in recent years his family has been subjected to well-documented neo-Nazi and extremist threats.

“While his role within the institution has changed, his profile as a member of the royal family has not. Nor has the threat to him and his family.

“The Duke and Duchess of Sussex personally fund a private security team for their family, yet that security cannot replicate the necessary police protection needed whilst in the UK.

“In the absence of such protection, Prince Harry and his family are unable to return to his home.”

‘The Queen was right to get rid of Andrew’

This is a comment piece by Karren Brady.

Instead of celebrating the incredible milestone of becoming the first British monarch to mark 70 years on the throne , she is facing another annus horribilis.

The allegations against the Duke of York could not have come at a worse time as we navigate an ocean of woke views, still rocking in the wake of the Me Too movement.

Prince Andrew's friendship with paedophile Jeffrey Epstein and child trafficker Ghislaine Maxwell, along with claims that he slept with 17-year-old Virginia Roberts — now known by her married name Giuffre — could prove a fatal anchor that drags the monarchy into the cold depths.

And that is why the Queen has had to cut him loose.

'No-fly zone' to be put in over Windsor

Aircraft and drones will be banned from January 27 from passing within a 2,500ft altitude over the residence.

The order will also make it an offence to fly inside 1.4 miles of the castle walls.

Moves to increase security come after an intruder with a crossbow got into the grounds, right, after a "kill the Queen" video was posted online on Christmas Day.

The 95-year-old monarch has spent almost all of the past two years living in her private apartments there due to Covid-19 restrictions.

The Civil Aviation Authority says it is in the public interest to impose the ban.

Kate ‘holds the Windsors' future in her hands’

A former chief of staff to the Firm has stated that Kate Middleton holds the future of the Royal Family in her hands.

According to Patrick Jephson, the former chief of staff to Princess Diana, Kate is essential for the Firm amid a troubling time for the Queen.

Patrick told the New York Post: “As the Prince Andrew scandal shows, the monarchy is in desperate need of reassuringly conventional royal performers.

"Catherine is just what these troubled royal times need — it's no exaggeration that the Windsors' future lies in her hands."

Dai Davies blasted the force for refusing to investigate.

He said: "I'd like to know who made this decision and why.

“Did it go to the Met Commissioner, or even the Home Secretary? "

He urged a rethink after a US judge ruled a civil case can go ahead.

Dai, ex-head of Royal Protection for the Queen , added: "An investigation will give him the chance to clear his name."

Dai was a Scotland Yard Chief Superintendent.

Two new witnesses could place Andrew & Virginia together

The Sun on Sunday can also reveal two new witnesses who could place Andrew and Virginia together in New York and the Caribbean.

One is said to be a woman "in Jeffrey Epstein's orbit" who saw Andrew and Virginia at the billionaire paedophile's New York mansion.

The other allegedly saw the royal and Giuffre together in New York and the Caribbean.

A source told The Sun on Sunday: "These are two witnesses who have emerged since Virginia filed her lawsuit against Andrew last summer.

"Virginia's lawyers know just how key their testimony could be."

Virginia's attorney, David Boies, said last month that he had up to six witnesses who could give evidence placing her with Andrew.

Andrew was set to lose protection officers in 2020

Andrew was set to lose all three protection officers in June 2020 following a Home Office cost-cutting review – but clung onto them after the Queen intervened.

His minders are each thought to cost £100,000 a year in wages, flights, perks and hotels.

Her Majesty’s youngest son Edward and his wife Sophie were also set to lose their protection. However, a source said Andrew was the most “persuasive” as he lobbied his mother.

Princess Beatrice’s £60,000 engagement ring ‘more modern’

One expert has revealed why Beatrice’s engagement ring took the top spot over Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle’s.

Princess Beatrice married English property developer Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi on July 17, 2020.

Tobias Kormind, managing director of 77Diamonds.com, said that: "Princess Beatrice’s ring is a beautiful 3.5 carat round diamond, of medium quality, set in an Art Deco design, with tapered baguettes on each side of the centre stone.”

“I would value this ring at £60,000.”

What was truth behind controversial sale of Andrew’s £15m home?

The prince has previously come under scrutiny for the controversial sale of his former marital home.

Royal biographer Nigel Cawthorne says: “He sold Sunninghill Park in Berkshire, in 2007 for £15million – a cool £3million over the asking price after lingering on the market – to a Kazakh oligarch.

“It was a wedding present from the Queen.”

The Daily Mail claimed that Andrew also tried to persuade Coutts, the Queen's bank, to take the oligarch, Timur Kulibayev, on as a client.

The reports followed earlier allegations that Andrew tried to broker a deal between a Greek sewage company and a Swiss finance house that would have seen him benefit from a £4million commission.

“Andrew and Fergie now live rent-free in the seven-bedroom Royal Lodge in Windsor Great Park, though he did spend £7.5million doing it up with a pool and driving range,” Cawthorne continues.

“Then there's the ski lodge in Switzerland with reportedly six members of staff which he is selling for an estimated £18million – minus the £6.6million he still owed the previous vendor who sued him.

“The swish property was bought in 2015 with a mortgage as an 'investment' and a little help from the Bank of Mum which, presumably, he won't have to pay back.”

Prince Andrew 'WON'T lose his £300k-a-year security detail'

PRINCE Andrew won’t lose his £300,000-a-year security detail after he was stripped of his titles – as Harry launches a bid to sue the Government for police protection.

The Duke of York is facing calls to pay for his own security after the Queen released a statement revealing he has been effectively banished from the Royal Family.

News that he will reportedly retain the bodyguards comes as he prepares to fight a civil sex abuse case after learning this week it will be going ahead, despite a battle by his lawyers to have it thrown out.

Johanna Sjoberg as a witness in Andrew's trial

Epstein's former personal assistant Johanna Sjoberg has claimed the Duke groped her breast when she was 21 years old while she sat on a sofa with him and Ms Giuffre.

Court documents revealed Andrew allegedly touched the Florida hairdresser, 41, as they posed for a picture.

In her testimony in 2016, she said Andrew and Ms Giuffre were sat on a couch with a Spitting Image puppet on her lap.

She said: "And so then I sat on Andrew's lap – and I believe on my own volition – and they took the puppet's hands and put it on Virginia's breast, and so Andrew put his on mine."

Ms Sjoberg, an American, alleged the incident happened at the New York home of his deceased paedo pal Epstein , according to court papers.

Piers Morgan: Harry behaving like shameless hypocrite when Queen least needs it

THERE are now three cast-iron certainties in life: death, taxes, and Prince Harry behaving like a shameless, deluded, woefully entitled hypocrite.

There was a wearisome inevitability that just when the Queen least needed her renegade royal grandson to pipe up whining again from his Californian mansion, he would do exactly that.

For the past year, Harry seems to have delighted in making his 95-year-old grandmother's life more difficult during the most difficult times of her life.

When the Queen's husband Prince Philip was dying in hospital last March, Harry and his equally narcissistic wife Meghan went on TV to whack the Monarchy and spray-gun (without providing any evidence) the Royal Family as a bunch of callous racists.

And now, as she reels from taking what must have been an unbelievably hard – but very necessary – decision to publicly humiliate her middle son Prince Andrew over the appalling Epstein/Maxwell sex abuse scandal, Harry rears his perpetually angry, over-privileged head once more to rub salt into her emotional wounds.

    Prince Andrew 'in turmoil'

Sources close to Andrew claim he is "feeling like his insides have been ripped out" after the Queen stripped him of titles , patronages and the use of HRH status on Thursday after she was pressed by Charles and William .

A close friend of the Duke said: "He is in turmoil. Up until now, on advice of his lawyers, he didn't think it would go this far.

"But he has now finally realised how bad the situation is and feels he has let the Queen down.

"He desperately wants to make amends, although he accepts that it will take a long time. He is relying on the love and support of his family to get through this."

Harry’s safety fears for family as he files claim over police protection

The Duke of Sussex has filed a claim for a judicial review against a Home Office decision not to allow him to personally pay for police protection for himself and his family while in the UK.

Harry wants to bring his son Archie and baby daughter Lilibet to visit from the US, but he and his family are “unable to return to his home” because it is too dangerous, a legal representative said.

It follows an incident in London in the summer of 2021 when his security was compromised after his car was chased by paparazzi photographers as he left a charity event.

The duke wants to fund the security himself, rather than ask taxpayers to foot the bill, a legal representative for Harry said.

Harry is arguing his private protection team in the US does not have adequate jurisdiction abroad or access to UK intelligence information which is needed keep the Sussex family safe.

“The UK will always be Prince Harry’s home and a country he wants his wife and children to be safe in,” the legal representative for the duke said in a statement to the PA news agency.

“With the lack of police protection, comes too great a personal risk.”

The representative added: “The Duke and Duchess of Sussex personally fund a private security team for their family, yet that security cannot replicate the necessary police protection needed whilst in the UK.

“In the absence of such protection, Prince Harry and his family are unable to return to his home.”

Why did Harry & Meghan lose taxpayer-funded security?

Harry and Meghan’s security provision was one of the key issues when the couple announced they wanted to step down in 2020.

Speaking to Winfrey during the couple’s sit-down interview in 2021, Harry said he was told that “due to our change of status – we would no longer be ‘official’ members of the royal family”.

He said he had been shocked by this and “pushed back” on the issue, arguing that there had been no change of threat or risk to the couple.

Meghan, during the same interview, told how she had written to her husband’s family urging them not to “pull his security”, but had been told “it’s just not possible”.

At the time of announcing their stepping back from royal life in 2020, their website suggested the Home Office, through the Metropolitan Police, should continue to provide protection for the couple and Archie, their only child at the time.

Calls for Andrew to lose the £30million mansion

There are calls for Andrew , who has now been made a private citizen by the Queen, to lose the £30million mansion he shares with Fergie, along with his taxpayer-funded round-the-clock security.

Ex-royal cop thought 'Ghislaine & Andrew were lovers'

AN ex-royal cop has revealed he suspected that Prince Andrew and Ghislaine Maxwell were lovers — because she came and went from Buckingham Palace "at will".

Former bodyguard Paul Page claims in an ITV programme — Ghislaine, Prince Andrew and the Paedophile — that the shamed ex-socialite visited up to four times in one day.

Page, who was jailed for fraud in 2009, has previously claimed Prince Andrew's female friends, including Ghislaine, rarely signed in.

Page told ITV's Ranvir Singh: "From the way she was allowed to enter and exit the palace at will, we suspected that she may have had an intimate relationship with Prince Andrew ."

He went on: "She kept coming in and out, in and out."

Harry's outburst 'predicted his royal future'

Two years ago, Prince Harry faced his family for crunch talks on his future with Meghan Markle – in what became known as the Sandringham Summit.

At the summit, Harry met with the Queen, Prince Charles and Prince William to negotiate his and Meghan's exit from the Firm.

And the outcome of those talks had eerily been predicted by Harry decades earlier during a childhood argument with Prince William, where the pair were travelling from London to Gloucester.

The incident was overheard by Ken Wharfe, a long-serving protection officer to the royals.

Ken said that: "Harry out of nowhere said: 'William, one day you'll be king, I won't, it doesn't matter therefore I can do what I like'."

Beatrice will NOT be forced to take stand in Andrew's case

PRINCESS Beatrice will not be forced to take the stand in her father Andrew's sex abuse case, lawyers say.

Sources close to the Royal Family say they'd been braced for Beatrice, 33 , to be called as a key witness.

However, in a surprise move last night, legal counsel for accuser Virginia Roberts Giuffre say they only plan to seek depositions from two British witnesses, the Telegraph reports.

It means both Beatrice and Sarah Ferguson won't have to fly to New York to give evidence if a trial does ultimately take place.
