Morris was Lampard’s assistant at Stamford Bridge for 18 months before the club legend was replaced by Thomas Tuchel back in January.
Since his appointment, the German has guided the Blues to Champions League glory and looks well equipped to follow that up this year with domestic honours given Chelsea’s strong form in the Premier League this season.
Tuchel sanctioned a club-record £97.5million deal to bring Romelu Lukaku back to the club for a second spell this summer.

But Morris revealed that Chelsea were in the market for a different elite striker before Tuchel’s arrival – with the Stamford Bridge hierarchy making moves to try and hijack Manchester United’s interest in Haaland.
It’s anticipated that United will try again next summer to strike a deal for the Norwegian star. But Morris believes they’ll face competition for the Blues and a host of other top clubs from around Europe.
“I think they will face still competition from the best clubs in the world,” Morris told Stadium Astro when asked about United's chances of landing Haaland.
“It is not always the one that looks like the perfect fit that gets it over the line. They will face competition from Manchester City , I think Chelsea will be involved.

“I know Chelsea was interested in him previously. I know he was speaking to Frank when he was manager of Chelsea.
“I think he is a boy that knows he is in demand and he won't rush any decision and he hasn't so far.
“The position he is in is a strong one but like I said, there will be seven or eight of the biggest clubs in the world after him. It will take something special to get it over the line.”
If Chelsea do decide to revisit a move for Haaland, it would likely spell the end of Timo Werner’s time in west London after another torrid afternoon in front of goal in Sunday’s 1-1 draw with United.

Werner missed a host of golden opportunities and was slammed after the match by ex-Chelsea striker Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink, who was doing punditry work for Sky Sports.
"Poor, poor," said the current Burton boss when assessing Werner’s display after the match.
"With the ball, without the ball, he was poor today. Normally he is really sharp with his runs but it was poor.
"At the end of the day, you're a No 9, you're going to be judged on the opportunities you get and what you do with it. It wasn't good enough.
"He needs to score those chances. He keeps missing big chances, big opportunities. He needs to put them away."
