A cordon has been set up on Boaler Street, with a number of police at the scene. The Royal Logistics Corp bomb disposal team arrived at the scene just before 3pm this afternoon.
Residents in the area have been informed that they are unable to return home yet as police continue their investigations into the attack at the hospital.
Sutcliffe Street has also had a cordon set up, according to Counter Terrorism Policing North West.
The cordon was put in place as police investigated items which were found inside the property.

“This is only as a precaution and we will provide updates when we have them.”
Police then confirmed that suspicious packages were found during a search of an address in Sutcliffe St.

The UK’s terror threat level was increased from "substantial" to "severe" following the explosion at the hospital in Liverpool.
The last time the threat level was raised to “severe” was in November 2020.
Speaking about the rise in threat level, MI5 said: "Vigilance is vital regardless of the current national threat level.
