Donald Trump will be set on a fast-track to impeachment tomorrow. The formal move is an attempt to ensure he is banned from ever running for the presidency again. It comes amid swelling anger over the US Capitol riot, fomented by the outgoing President, which left five people dead, including a police officer. House of Congress lawmakers will seek to charge the Republican with “incitement of insurrection”. The Democrats said they would only halt their bid if he resigns or is removed under the 25th Amendment. Even after the Washington violence on Wednesday, Mr Trump – who has fought to have his election trouncing by Democrat Joe Biden overturned – vowed he will return to power. But a Washington insider told the Sunday Mirror: “This is catastrophic for him.
