Former Monsta X star Wonho has been cleared of all drug charges, Starship Entertainment have confirmed.
It comes after an individual had claimed to have witnessed Wonho and Jung Da Eun smoking marijuana in 2013 and he quit the band.
Wonho co-operated with the investigation by Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency's narcotics investigation team according to Soompi, and was cleared of all charges.
The person who reported them is allegedly currently detained at the Seoul Detention Center on charges of using drugs including marijuana, Philopon (a methamphetamine), ecstasy, and ketamine.
Starship Entertainment released an official statement confirming the investigation had concluded and Wonho was cleared of all charges related to the case.
The statement reads: 'The Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency's drug investigation team cleared Wonho, a former member of the idol group Monsta X, of all charges against him on March 10th after closing an investigation into the drug, including marijuana.
'In late October last year, allegations of marijuana smoking were raised against Wonho which consequently led the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency's drug investigation team to investigate all drug charges on him.
'During the investigation, Wonho actively cooperated with the police and all investigation procedures, including scientific examinations by the investigative agencies.
'The Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency's drug investigation unit conducted extensive investigations for the past five months but was unable to find any charges. Finally, on March 10th, Wonho's internal investigation was concluded.
'Regardless of any above, we would like to apologize once again for the fact that Starship Entertainment and Wonho have caused great concern to our fans. We also thank all our fans for their unwavering support while the investigation was conducted.
'During the long investigation, we tried our best to minimize media exposure to Wonho and to appoint an attorney to ensure that there are no charges against him. We will continue to fully support Wonho for developing his own career in the future. Thank you.'
Wonho had announced he would be leaving Monsta X on 31 October, writing a letter to fans explaining his departure.
The handwritten letter read: 'First, I would like to apologize for not being able to keep the promise that I would only provide good memories and for causing pain to fans.
'Furthermore, I apologise for causing concern to many people due to my personal issues. I have received undeserving blessings and love while promoting as a MONSTA X member. I sincerely thank you for making precious memories for me.
'To the members who worked hard with me and stayed with me, I would like to tell them that I'm thankful and that I love them. [I would also like to show them] my apologetic heart.
'There was a time when I was immature and have made big and small mistakes, but after becoming a trainee and making my debut, I stayed on track and worked hard to avoid being ashamed of myself.'
Wonho continued: 'I am announcing that I am leaving MONSTA X today. I am apologetic for causing harm to the members due to the unfortunate issues related to me.
'More than anything, I am sorry for disappointing my fans, who believed in me. I have reached this decision after seeing may people having a hard time because of me.
'In addition to our members, I once again sincerely bow my head in apology to the fans who have believed in me and supported me.
'Please give strength to MONSTA X. The members have nothing to do with me. I carefully ask that you at least give support and encouragement to the members.
'They are people who are too good to stop and get hurt like this because of someone like me.
'I am so thankful and apologetic to the staff, members, and lastly our fans who have allowed me to enjoy such happiness until this point.'
