Free Family Film

Learn about probate and estate planning
Do you want to simplify your lifestyle? Fort Bend County Libraries' Cinco Ranch Branch Library will present "Probate & Other Legal Issues," part of the library's Senior Living Series, on Thursday, March 12, from 2 to 3 p.m., in the Meeting Room of the library, located at 2620 Commercial Center Blvd in Katy. Cathy Rath, an attorney with Rath Law Group in Katy, will discuss wills, probate, and other legal issues facing senior citizens. This program is intended for senior citizens and their families, as well as anyone who is considering economizing and living a simpler lifestyle. The program is free and open to the public. Teen Time is a place to kick back, meet other teens, and be yourself while learning new skills. Healthy Lifestyles, Healthy Community
Maud Marks Library is kickstarting the new year with a new health and wellness series for our community members. Each month will be different topic with workshops and classes that will help community members resources and tips to lead a healthy lifestyle. Learn to improve your personal well-being through simple lifestyle changes. It is promoting individual health and community health through this program. This series will be offered on the second Friday of the month at 3 p.m. Join us on Friday, March 13, at 3 p.m. for a meditation workshop presented by Sahaja Yoga, where we will sit comfortably and close our eyes to enjoy thoughtless awareness of natural bliss flowing through our hands. Meditation has many benefits like reducing stress and anxiety, improved health and immune system, and better focus and concentration. Advancing Your Excel Skills
Are you interested in getting more out of your Microsoft Excel program? On Saturdays, March 14, 21, and 28 at 10 a.m., the Maud Marks Library will be teaching beyond the basics of Microsoft Excel. Pub Crawl
LaCenterra is teaming up with Saint Arnold Brewing Company to host a fun St. Patty's themed Pub Crawl. There are five participating locations. Participants will start at Baker Street between 1 and 2 p.m. where they will get a punch card at that stop and go from there. Participants will need to begin crawling by 2 p.m. At 5 p.m., everybody will gather back at Baker Street where Saint Arnold will award a prize. The prize for making all the stops will be one of their 2020 St. Patrick's Day pint glasses. Designated drivers are both eligible for the award and encouraged to attend. Hear about Fulshear, Fort Bend history
In recognition of Texas History Month in March, Fort Bend County Libraries will present a special program on "Fulshear & Fort Bend History" on Monday, March 16, beginning at 6:30 p.m., in the Meeting Room of the Bob Lutts Fulshear/Simonton Branch Library, located at 8100 FM 359 South in Fulshear. Claire Rogers, executive director of the Fort Bend History Association, will share fascinating stories about the history of Fort Bend County since the time of Stephen F. Austin's Old 300, with particular focus on the Fulshear area. The program is free and open to the public. Learn about business accounting, tax prep
Fort Bend County Libraries' Cinco Ranch Branch Library will present a special program, "Business Accounting & Tax Preparation," on Saturday, March 21, from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., in the Meeting Room of the library, located at 2620 Commercial Center Blvd in Katy. SCORE mentor Cristy Fontanilla will explain the key numbers/indicators on a financial statement and show how they can be used to guide one's day-to-day business decisions. Get tips on how to manage financial information to stay on top of business tax reporting and tax dues. Fontanilla will also demonstrate how to monitor the health of one's business by analyzing the financial figures. Color Me Relaxed
What is the newest way for adults to relax and have a good time? Coloring! The Maud Marks Library now has an adult coloring hour on the 4th Tuesday of every month. HistoryMakers
The past and the future come together in one of Maud Marks Library's newest programs. Once a month we will look at a historical event and learn all about it as well as create something using the latest Maker technology. Join us on Tuesday, March 24, at 2 p.m. as we celebrate our pets and other animals not so fortunate. We will be making pet toys to donate to Citizens for Animal Protection for their shelter animals. Katy Bubble Run
The Katy Bubble Run on March 28 will benefit five Katy-area charities. The run includes a 5K, 10K and a Kids Dash at Kingsland Baptist Church, 20555 Kingsland Blvd. The event will benefit Christ Clinic, Compassion Katy, Hope Impacts, Katy Christian Ministries and The Ballard House. The event will include live entertainment, food trucks, a vendor marketplace, an inflatable obstacle course, face painting and children's games. Spring Gift Market
Home for the Holidays will present the Spring Gift Market at the Katy Merrell Center, 6301 S. Stadium Lane, Katy, on April 4-5. Hours will be 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m.-4 p.m. Sunday. The event will feature gourmet foods, candles and potpourri, clothing and jewelry, home decor and more. Admission is $6 and is good both days. Parking is free.
