Prince William praised for congratulating award recipient Alex Duguid using sign language

January 15, 2020 by mumbaimirror.indiatimes.com

Prince William, the Duke of Cambridge has been hailed for using sign language to congratulate a hearing-impaired award recipient during the palace’s investiture ceremony.

Prince William awarded language expert Alex Duguid an MBE for his service to the deaf community.

Incidentally, Diana, the Princess of Wales and Prince Williams’s mother, had been a patron of the British Deaf Association (BDA) before her tragic and untimely death in a car crash in a road tunnel in Paris, France. The organization hailed her as an ‘inspiration to the Deaf community’.

Here’s what the internet had to say about Prince William using sign language during the presentation:

The praise for Prince William comes a few days after the news of what citizens of the UK have dubbed as ‘Mexit’ aka Prince Harry and Meghan Markle stepping back as ‘senior’ members of the Royal Family.

On Monday, Queen Elizabeth II agreed to grant Prince Harry and his wife Meghan their wish for a more independent life, allowing them to move part-time to Canada while remaining in the House of Windsor.
